Hey there! Okay, so, to make things brief the last time quotev worked was two weeks (I think) ago.
Basically, I tried EVERYTHING for it to work. I tried opening it on my laptop, and then on my phone, and on my dad’s phone, and on my sister’s laptop, but it still doesn’t load. It doesn’t say the domain is blocked or anything. It just says “establishing secure connection” on my laptop then “www.quotev.com took too long to respond” I tried on Safari, Chrome, and Opera. Same problem. I even tried pinging it but it says “Request timed out.”
I live in Egypt, and a friend of mine has had the same problem so idk. I also snooped around on your blog and some people are experiencing the same problem I think- but idk if it’s a proxy issue.

The one thing you haven't specified you've tried (but I'm assuming you probably have anyway as you mentioned your friend) is trying a different internet connection. The proxy issues everyone else has been having has allowed Quotev to load, and they only getting issues when they go to log in. Quotev the website itself isn't loading for you. I do wonder if it is an issue with your internet connection itself -- whether it's on your end or somewhere in the middle, like one of the regional servers in your area.
If the friend who has the same problem is someone you know IRL, I'd be more likely to believe it may be a server issue. I've had a similar issue myself once -- I couldn't get Quotev to load (it kept just timing out), but it seemed like I was the only one with the issue. After a couple of hours it fixed itself and I found out then that people who I knew who lived in my region had also had the exact same issue -- so it had been a problem on Quotev's servers in my local area.
If it is the servers in Egypt that's the problem, though, unfortunately that means there's not a whole lot you can do because it's not a problem with your setup.

Hey! I made an account on quotev, but I can't do anything on it. It's been two days and all it says is, '' the account is pending approval, which usually takes less than 24 hours ''. Is this normal? Is it even worth the wait, because I see a lot of complaints over here?
I’ve honestly never seen that happen! I didn’t even realise there was a pending approval period for new accounts? This must be a new thing? Then again, I’ve made one account in 2012 and that was it, so my own personal experience with account making was a long time ago.
Honestly, if your basing your opinion off this tumblr alone, you’re going to get a very skewed and biased view – this is where people go when they have an issue and not when it’s working smoothly. If Quotev wasn’t a place I enjoyed spending my time on, I wouldn’t have thought it was worth making a tumblr dedicated to it and spend my time helping other Quotev users, right? ;]
But does anyone else out there have any experience with this?
Hi. My story on Quotev does not show up on my profile when I click on published nor does it show up when I search it. It also does not give notifications when I update. Is there anything I can do? I am worried as my story is going so well and is popular and I do not want to lose it.
Stories can be taken off the search lists for a number of reasons. Not giving notifications is usually an indicator of that (same with it not appearing on your profile when logged out). Mature content is usually a common reason, though it’s not the only. Not seeing the story or knowing any more details means it’s hard to tell you with any certainty what the exact problem is. You could have simply accidentally set it to hidden.
Regardless, there are two ways here: identify what is causing your story to be removed from the index and edit that out or remove what it is and repost the story. Simply editing it out doesn’t always fix the issue, but it at least lets you keep your read counts and comments. You may need to repost it.
Your story should still appear on your profile to those logged in, though! It shouldn’t be completely deleted from Quotev.
So how does publishing anonymously work? I want to publish a story, but i dont want people to know its mine. Would they be able to find out?
Publishing anonymously is your best bet if you want something published on Quotev without your name. It works just like posting normally, only you won’t be listed in the authors on the published piece. It will still appear to you only on your Published list (like a draft does) – nobody else will see it there, though it should still appear on search lists unless it’s taken off the index for the content in it. The only way anyone would be able to tell you’ve published it is if they comment on the story and you reply – you’ll still have a bold “Author” tag under your name in your own comments on your story.
I've been SUSPENDED from Quotev today. I have to wait until the 14th of August. I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG! Why was I suspended?
Unfortunately, I’m not the Quotev mods, so I can’t tell you what they’re thinking. (but, boy, would that be incredibly handy! I’m not even kidding. Some transparency would be nice, guys)
Generally, they do give you some reason (eg “harassment” or “plagiarism” etc) when you are suspended, though. How vague it is is the question! I have no idea what you were up to leading up to this happening, so without some kind of invasion-of-your-privacy access to every comment you’ve ever made etc, it’s hard to pinpoint where this could have even had the possibility of it even happening.
Log in failure
I recently tried to log in but it only said “ login not available because you are connecting through a server or a proxy” thought this haven’t happened before, you know why?
I’m beginning to notice this is starting to be a theme lately? I don’t know if this means the Quodevs have fiddled about with the login processes, but I feel like this is becoming more a common issue recently.
Anyway, I briefly explained what a proxy server is in this ask. As for getting around it, well, the only thing I can think of is to check your browser settings (usually proxy servers settings are in the advanced -> network -> connection settings tab, or equivalent of in your browser) and see what it’s set to.
