the current state of the site: end of 2024 edition
well, it’s been a while. I think we’ve all settled in nicely to wherever else we’ve all chosen (unless you’ve settled in not-nicely), aside from the occasional pang of nostalgic regret.
there have been no more updates to the site to my knowledge, but it’s hard to find out now because the news feature is gone. what I really wanted to talk about is the fact that people are still using the website, and not just for writing and making quizzes, which has continued as usual. Users are still making activities, interacting, and even doing follow sprees.
as you can see, user stardropz only joined 2 months ago, and already has about 3.4 thousand followers. Some users have resorted to using their pinned posts as replacement dms. (Return of the public dms, I guess.) the amount of comments on an active user's account is now much higher because it is one of the only places you can communicate.
so if you really, really miss quotev, and wouldn’t mind having to visit profiles just to talk to people, you could absolutely go back. That is, for as long as the administration keeps up the activity feature on profiles. fin
