interior Chinatown has been consuming my thoughts (for many reasons) but one thing that sticks out to me is mixed race in regards to Lana.

the biggest being she’s too Asian to be a cop, so she has to be a Chinatown informant, but she knows nothing about Chinatown and is too white to fit in.

it was like a mirror when I watched it, as a white passing wasian who feels weird ignoring either part of my identity and is expected to rectify both.

I can’t say I’m not Asian because it’s part of my upbringing and identity, but I don’t look Asian so I feel weird claiming it.

and then there’s a character going through the exact same thing and making me not feel so alone.
