76:23

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًۭا ٢٣

Indeed, it is We Who have revealed the Quran to you ˹O Prophet˺ in stages.

فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًۭا ٢٤

So be patient with your Lord’s decree, and do not yield to any evildoer or ˹staunch˺ disbeliever from among them.

It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it.

This was the number one most important lesson that I learnt from my first year at university. I spent my first year stressing so much about my grades and gpa that I completely stopped doing everything else. I stopped baking, going out and making plans with friends, I couldn't pay attention to my quran classes and skipped so many of them all because I wanted to study properly.

But guess what? I still didn't get a good grade. And this made me realise that I was doing all things the wrong way. My problem wasn't the lack of determination or because I wasn't smart enough or because I wasn't giving it enough time. My problem was my lack of focus, procrastinating so much of my work because I wanted things to be done the perfect way (even though I would be studying but I still wouldn't be studying and just stress out on how much stuff I had to do) and mismanagement of time (studying too much without actually learning anything, with an unfocused brain aka being unproductive)

My problem was in the way I was dealing with things.

So this year, now that I have realised my shortcomings, I want to concentrate on being productive and manage my time more efficiently. I want to overcome my inner perfectionist that makes me procrastinate so many of my tasks and develop a better and longer focus. In Sha Allah(if Allah Wills)

(P.s: I know how messy my study table is but idk how it becomes messy? Atleast I am studying lol)

MUSLIM STUDYBLR NEWBIE

Salam everyone! I have just made my very first studyblr blog and if you are a new studyblr too, then I would love to follow you.

With my studyblr account, I hope to share inspiration and spread motivation through college posts etc. Moreover, I would love to share my university experiences and I want to get to know other studyblrs the same way too. So reblog/like this if you want me to follow you :)

Moreover, I will be sharing religious posts and tips on how to become a better Muslim. Being a Muslim student myself, I know how hard it can be to take out the time to worship and spend time learning the quran.

Some facts about me:

• I am 21 years old Muslim

• Pakistani

• I am a student of Quran (I am trying to learn more about my religion and become a better Muslim. Currently enrolled in a proper Quran course)

• I am doing bachelors in electrical engineering

• I love the color blue (that was quite random lol)

• I love bullet journalling! I will be sharing my bujo posts as well, especially islamic bujo spreads In Sha Allah

• I love food and chocolates and desserts and..I should stop yeah (seriously though, food is life)

• I am trying to become more fit physically (so I will be sharing some of that healthcare and get your body in shape kinda stuff to)

• My hobby is baking!

• My favourite sports is badminton

• I like to read

A4 Quran and PERSPECTIVES

I’d discovered a beautiful Quran, on a short visit to my sister, and oh how many lessons one can learn from looking at something one is so used to in a completely different way. Some context; I’m used to reading an A5 sized Quran with the standard division of 15 lines fitting on each page. This Quran was different in that the script font was far smaller which meant more lines than usual fit into one page; altering the entire format of the Quran as ‘most of us’ (who grew up with the standard 15lines/604 pg Madinah Mushaf) know it. The top right picture illustrates my explanation best; the surah that begins and ends on this spread is Surah Yasin! (now doesn’t that looks aspiring-ly achievable?)

Although the surahs ‘looked’ shorter, i was flooded with appreciation as my eyes drank in the ‘bigger picture’. Suddenly it was in plain sight; the investment required to commit even the smallest quantity of quran to memory is disproportionate to size. The dedication required for one to be familar with just a few lines of this seemingly pleasing a4 page outweighed the size of the minuscule script that lay before my eyes. A few lines suddenly transformed into a representation of 7 very very early mornings, 7-14 black coffees, wudu, motivation to get up, revision in prayers and laser focused memorisation, repetition, reading and understanding, consistency i.e it takes a good disciplined week to gain momentum for one to taste the confidence that partners good memory (and all of that, only to be found on an exceptionally good week!)

Filled with awe, as the real lesson of encountering this Mushaf dawned upon me; while the words of Allah may, at times grant you a glimpse of the bigger picture, each letter’s value is undoubtedly, and in every sense, a heavyweight on the scale, and THAT must never be underestimated no matter the size of the frame.

Lessons From Juz Amma

This is not a race this is a record.

Your achievements or non achievements are a reflection of your everyday. Your ability to recall with ease, is a manifestion of those early mornings when you didn’t want to get up out of bed, yet you somehow found the courage to rise. It is testimony to one’s inner strength to switch on that kettle, yes that familiar scent of coffee is your guarantee that you will and shall, earlier than one ought to, stagger through the reluctance, grogginess and disorientation of time, space and common sense.

Then there is the ease, the ease in which you able to recall the Quran is a testimony to how much time you’ve spent with it. There is no room for pretending. The end of the week transforms into a yardstick, a measurement of a declaration you made. A declaration of love for the words revealed by Him.

If there is one thing I’ve learned so far, it is this: certainly with practice you will meet breakthrough and with breakthrough you will find yourself holding the hand of a grand responsibilty. Ever at war to ensure a firm grasp, you pray and pray to never let go. Salah is your best companion at this stage. ‘There are not enough prayers in the day’ I heard one say. Holding tightly, she too, nurturing that love.

The journey to memorise, I began to quickly discover, does not end past the door; the moment an ayah, a surah or juz is committed to memory…no, rather it seems it is only just the beginning. The beginning of a grand adventure.
