“—ew, not just the two of us,” ori replied playfully, scrunching her nose at the idea. she knew men, or at least this man tended to want it in the morning, but with ryder out, it just wouldn’t feel right, so the angel pulled on her t-shirt from the night before and finally crawled out from beneath the fuzzy warmth of the comforter. “we’re waiting til she gets home, and that’s final. so, i don’t know, take care of it yourself.” the cool air made goosebumps on her exposed thighs as she started walking toward the bedroom door. “turn on the cartoons, halliwell. i’ll be back with the cereal in a few minutes.” saturday mornings had always been her favorite, once she discovered the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

the evening had been normal enough, axel found himself looking over some paperwork for the club when he felt a shift in the air. it felt a bit like the night eve died, though sharper, like bright light had been snuffed out. he felt the shockwaves among the heavens, michael... the great protector was gone ?? that didn’t seem right, until he felt a stronger presence coming from his mother, and things suddenly clicked. his initial impulse was to go to her but if things were as bad as he feared, axel knew the one person she’d want with her. suddenly appearing at tanner’s side in the dancers’ back room, he cleared his throat to get the human’s attention. ❝ you need to get dressed and come with me. now. something’s wrong. ❞

kari often wondered how regular people did it, working -- families -- ‘ normal ’ lives. she didn’t need as much rest as humans and she still found it hard to find time for things, occasionally, but with the hours she and logan worked it wasn’t unheard of. peaking around the corner after putting their youngest down, she grinned at the sight of her wife. ❝ y’know, dax finally went to sleep, so if you want to catch a nap between shifts now is probably the time. ❞
