Sundew: someone will die Willow: of fun ...right? Sundew: Willow: Right?
The unholy love triangle which caused many shipping wars to break out.
Wings of Fire Headcanon #1: Qibli, Winter and Moon were actually a love triangle.
I know what you're thinking: "Yeah, that's not a headcanon, honey."
And, well, yes, but actually, no.
See, for something to be a triangle, it needs three sides. So, a love triangle would be something like "Person A likes person B, person B likes Person C, and Person C likes Person A."
Perfectly balanced. As all things should be.
But, the Moonbli/Winterwatcher/Qwinter love triangle doesn't seem to be a triangle. It's "Person A and B both like Person C. Who will Person C end up with in the end?" Which isn't a love triangle. It's a love point. And a tragedy of proper triangles is it's impossible for it to be wholly straight.
But... What if, really, this was a balanced triangle all along?
A balanced triangle's resolution involves someone reciprocating someone's feelings, and then the third person A: Dying, B: Pining, or C: Getting over it. And given that Qibli, the key to this bi puzzle, is the last point of view in the arc, giving this triangle plenty of time to progress... Here's how I think it looked when it began.
Qibli has a crush on Winter (sure, they could be "just friends", but, like... The gay). Winter has a crush on Moon (canon). And Moon has a crush on Qibli (quietly. Very, very quietly).
Making this a ✨BALANCED TRIANGLE!✨
Then, as the romantic subplot developed, Qibli's crush shifted to Moon, and Winter got over it and ran a petting zoo or whatever the weirdo's doing. Someone reciprocated someone's feelings and the third wheel got an ending.
Balanced. Triangle.
