New Beginnings - Roman&Franco

The past couple of months, had been rough for Roman, for many different reasons. One of them being the closing of his bar, for just the second time since it opened. Of course, with everything that had been going on, it wasn’t just Hill Top that was closed. Still, it felt odd and staying at home, suddenly with so much time in his hands, had not been good for him, considering he had a lot on his mind, he’d rather not be thinking about. He’d kept busy, tried to help others, in any way he could. But getting back to work, felt like a blessing, after a very rough week. And yet, re-opening had not been easy. A lot had to change for the bar to work again. Some of his employees, people he had considered family for the past few years, had to leave, if he wanted to make things work. Thankfully, with some help from a friend, not only his people had a new job, at a place where he knew they’d be well and safe, he was also able to offer work to a couple of people and help out. One of them, was Franco. The fact that he was Italian, had been a serious factor in his decision to hire him. The other being that the kid seemed to really need the help and Roman felt that, since he was able, he had to offer it. They’d agreed to meet on Thursday, before the bar opens for the day, to talk, figure things out and get to know each other a bit, before Franco could start working. Roman had made sure to ask the team to come in a bit later and he busied himself rearranging bottles while he waited for him.
