Was writing like a girl possessed for the last six weeks then suddenly slowed down a lot last week like a lot (!) and w/o me actively wanting to. Srsly started to worry bc I wrote so fast and maybe I burned out despite me having been so careful w/ my energy this time around. but now I’m three chapters from finishing a full fledged novel that didn’t exist two months ago and I know why I slowed down. Every step towards the end is causing me pain. I am preemptively missing this intense experience and the world and my boy and my other boy and my woman and the bitchy but cool other girl thats so dangerous I only dared go look at her from afar and the magic and the rain and the night and the sorrow.
[I‘ve always been too lazy to do that but I‘m procrastinating hard today so]
I‘m a 30-something German writer and already traditionally published a number of books.
Mainly • a Time Travel Novel set in Europe mostly (that my publisher for reasons that elude me markets as New Adult), • a sort of romantic Christmas Novel about a very frustrated bisexual employee of an auction house and a talented art forger he contracts to give in to petty revenge against his new employer and the art world in general (he’s a mess, she’s the cutest, only one is made for being a criminal and it’s not him), and • two Love&Thrill Romances set in British Columbia during Wildfire Season (which were the most fun to write but also the reason I am taking a break from publishing bc working w/ the editor of these two was kind of not it).
For two years now I am writing solely for myself in the hopes I will muster up the courage and nerves to query again at some point.
Current project is a High Fantasy called SECRETS (working titel) that was supposed to be the sequel to HEARTBEATS, which I started writing last years and finished this year, until I realized it’s actually the first of the serious and I‘m an idiot.
I blog about my writing and writing process (tags: writing, personal, heartbeats, secrets, boat is writing another book), my thoughts on social media and the publishing industry and whatever niche topics I am into at the moment. I am also chronically ill (MS, chronic fatigue) so you’ll hear me bitching about that too.
In theory I have a Newsletter that I love and usually share news, thoughts and musing and special interests in, but am not in the mood for these days. Here it is.

PS: if you need inside info on the art world etc. hit me up. I’ve got a master in art history and sinology and worked in auction houses. I’m also up to help out w/ all things german.
This book just turned two. Two years since publishing. Still love it. Still think it’s a tiny masterpiece (measured by my own writing abilities and the fact that it turned out better than I thought possible). [german under the cut]
I miss writing it bc I did it before I went into publishing and started thinking about the market and readership, genre expectations, and how a (bad) cover choice can make or break you. It was also before I started being mad about all of this and cried about it every opportunity I get (like no). *insert eye roll
So true to this book about tragic, heartbreaking time travel and all I try to pretend I am back in 2016 and write like the last two years did not exist. But I’m doing this for a couple of months now and I still don’t feel free.

Total vergessen: ich habe noch ein Buch geschrieben (und bei einem Verlag untergebracht) *laughs nervously at the mess my life is at the moment.
