So I read that Malaysia has as good as passed new laws coming down hard on perpetrators of sexual crimes against children.

And that it all started with the journalists of R.age which is the youth news platform for The Star. They went undercover and caught so many in the act.

As I was telling my best friend, I am glad to have found this out because now I have hope.

These agents of change are the literal voices of tomorrow for the country. Their courage and selflessness, their passion for the cause… it is amazing. This is the proof that every voice counts. This is the proof that the essence of journalism still exists. This is the proof that social commentary and the pursuit of justice is very much alive in the hearts of today’s generation.

Change does not care how young you are. All it takes is for one person to get the ball rolling, for one voice to speak up. Journalism and democracy at its finest.
