I think its important to make sure you write about the good stuff from time to time Like the way that the sunlight bleeds onto your white sheets if you leave the shutters open just a crack or the feeling you get while you’re holding someone’s hand the consciousness of the intimacy of intertwined limbs or the infinity of a road that stretches out past the horizon the unknown of a destination not yet reached If all you write about is broken glass and shattered bones you can lick the seal on your sadness When the happiness comes, recognize it, remember it, and write it down it’s something you won’t want to forget
