Bahraha's Gloom

in Hew's Bane. One of my favorite delves.

Had to cast Photographer's Patience though – damn adventurers keep running through killing everything I'm trying to shoot! 😂

Funny I used to find Mournful Aegis a bit scary with the sounds they make. But now Khajiit can play with them to get some close-ups xD

I'd love to have the entire tileset from here. AND the sand! In fact, a "house" with just empty sand dunes and sea like Alik'r desert would be amazing. #eso housing wishlist

Why do red guards hate magic?

"You disarmed him, even, and would not kill him until he showed another knife. That is ra gada honor. We do not fight the unprotected"

They don’t revere or respect magic, it’s not a true weapon to them. It’s trickery and a crutch for those riddled with weakness. The ra gada accomplished destructive power well beyond the capability of many races, even possibly the Nords, and they did it with strength of mind body and soul in the way of sword play. As useful as magic is they never needed it to become powerful, so those who do to them have taken a shortcut, and are treacherous cowards. 

Necromancy and the like especially. They also have a history with fighting elves, and that’s possibly where this comes from though we can only assume the left handed elves were adept in magic. Left handed might be a symbolic name for how their people were in the pov of the redguards. Sly, slick, clever in the ways of magic. Weak.

They’re basically what everyone thought the Nords were like as far as magic goes. You think the Nords hate magic? That’s outright false. Redguards however... though it isn’t necessarily all magic as we’ve seen with Komatu who paralyzes that hot redguard chick they were looking for, and according to the redguard in Oblivion. But they still don’t like using it much.

There’s also that incident they had with Azra Nightwielder and his shadow magic.
