“Word’s cannot express how glad I actually am to be back here, I mean... I couldn’t stand another minute with my parents and the nagging and press meetings.”  Kinsey complained to a nearby teammate as she felt open a door while handing out flyers, watching as the auditorium flood in with people for ‘welcome assemblies’. A nearby face caught her eye though as she reached out with a smile to touch the persons arm, “hey ! It’s good to see you. How was your summer?”

“Hey!” Kennedy said grabbing his apple off his tray and tossing it over at the nearest person walking in the mess hall. “Come sit with me,” he gestured before moving his bag from the seat across from him. “Ya know, the food always sucked here… Sometimes I wish they would just add a chick fil a in the cafeteria or something... Hey, ya know what? I bet the lunch ladies have a shit ton of fun together in those walk in freezers…. I think I may add that to my to-do list. Frick frack in the snick snack.”

The night was cold for California. Teddy sat in the middle of the courtyard as she looked up at the stars. She had always loved astrology ever since she was a little girl. The stars were the most constant thing in her life, and for awhile there, they were her only friend. “Look straight ahead and you can see Orion’s belt.” She pointed out to her blanket companion. “If you follow it that way you can see the whole constellation.”

lights twinkled softly through the smoke-filled haze that was lucy’s room, the small girl spread across her bed as she stared at the ceiling. the music from the party downside sounded muffled through her closed door, a rogue scream occasionally breaking through the sound of the bass. her gaze was blank as she watched her ceiling, smoke billowing from her mouth with each exhale -- she supposed it was a hotbox, of sorts. a small noise knocked her out of her thoughts slightly, but not quite enough to register what it actually was. the noise came again, her mind coming to the realization that someone was knocking on her door. “ what? ” she called out hoarsely, “ if you want to fuck, pick a different room. ”
