Having thoughts about rabbits across the series looking for opinions on what the Zelda Team's intentions could have been deciding whether rabbits are included or absent.
In Ocarina of Time, the Postman stated that rabbits were hunted to extinction prior to the events in the game. That's so early in the timeline.
So how do we get so many rabbit like symbols or spirits even by the time of Breath of the Wild with the Blupees and a wooden shield depicting rabbits? Why are actual rabbit animals limited to rare downfall timeline appearances? (Excluding Spirit Tracks as it does not take place in old Hyrule where the rabbit extinction event occurred)
Do the Zonai's disappearance have anything to do with the rabbits extinction?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
