wow, lots of new likes/reblogs/followers. maybe I should show off the new toys
First up, I got a CZ SP-01 Tactical in 9mm, which is the version with a manual decocker instead of a safety. This allows for carrying with one in the chamber but still having the double-action trigger pull weight before the first shot, meaning more resistance and less likely to go off on draw. I wouldn't recommend decockers for those less experienced with carrying, but the standard SP-01 has the manual safety so options are available. I put Harbor Freight's clone of the TLR-1 weapon light on it and got it cerakoted Aztec Teal. This is my daily carry as compact pistols just don't feel good in my hands. Big guns, big thighs, can't lose.
Next up, I got a Century CA-3 in .308/7.62x51. It's essentially a PTR-91 surplus kit, with an American made barrel and receiver. Big battle rifle with a roller delay blowback system. The roller delay means smoother recoil, which helps with the large caliber round it fires. It also means instead of a standard bolt and charging handle, it has a charging handle further up the rifle, on the left side above the handguard instead of the right side of the receiver. You have to slap the charging handle out of the hold to seat the bolt properly, an action known as the "HK Slap". She's heavy, she requires verification of headspace occasionally, and she likes to be slapped around. She just like me frfr.
