everyone disappears right as i'm with you. / for garrett.
the words make head lift from his focus on the map. a hint of a smile began to curve as he puts the item away, focusing all attention on rachel. he scooted closer to her, resting large hands upon thighs carefully. with a squeeze placed there, he leaned forward to press lips against rachel's forehead in an act so tender that was foreign but so familiar between the pair.
" no one else matters. " words are murmured, tone full of warmth and sincerity as he dipped head a bit lower to allow his full lips to brush over hers in a way that was teasing, almost playful like their usual way of displaying affection.
lips press into a thin line at the outburst, clear rage, and hurt that emanated from rachel. he was semi - aware she had to do things in order to survive. fuck, he understood that shit more than any one he thought. alcoholic father, doomed mechanic and giving up dreams of NHL. he wasn't exactly from the trailer parks but living directly behind your father's car garage did not speak on volumes of wealth like his friends. garrett hailed from hockey legend and dean came from a family of lawyers. what did he have? beer cans, greasy hands, and a future tied to a car garage in the slum hell of munson? fuck.
hand drug roughly through his brunette strands, rolling shoulders as if this would ease the tension coiling in his body. logan hated fighting with rachel. this was not the sole reason he brought it up. he was concerned. tongue swiped over sahara - dry lips, adverting gaze while he tried to string together a coherent sentence that made sense and eased the venom gathering on the tip of her tongue.
" i never implied you used.. or was using. i just worry about you, baby. you may be a lioness and have no fear but people are fucking idiotic and cruel and don't give a shit about your life. and i do. "

Rachel matched Rafe's freak in more ways than one. What started as a simple boat day slowly became a steamy and heated exchange between the two lovers. Rafe wasn't no time in stripping his beautiful girlfriend. Her skin warm from laying out in the sun and the tan lines starting to become clean on her sun-kissed skin. The boat rocked with each roll of his hips into her. Hands gripping the cushion below her as he grunted. "Fuck. You're always so wet when we do it out in the open." He points out, soft ad playful. Like he said, she matches his freak.

spoilers for chapter 19 of the flori fic. there were many scenes that showcased flori's character perfectly, like scenes in chapter 14 and 22, specifically, but i think this is definitely one of them because hope mikaelson isn't the only one who can make the sacrifice play.
“Before you go,” Veronica clears her throat, “I would like to talk to your friend one on one - the one in that…” The corners of her mouth curl downwards, as if she’s tasting the most appalling lemon in the world. “...pretty dress.” The once over she gives Floribeth makes it clear that the words coming out of Veronica’s mouth do not match her thoughts.
“It’s supposed to evoke Mondrian’s ‘The Red Tree’,” Floribeth whispers, more so to herself than to Veronica, and at the same time MG looks back at his mother, a question in his eyes and on his lips.
“You guys go ahead and wait in the car,” Rafael says to MG and Landon before MG can do or say anything else, “I’ll stay with her.”
“Are you unaware of what the words one on one mean?” Veronica asks, glaring at Rafael. “Do you need me to repeat what I said? Maybe enunciate more clearly?”
“That’s calumny and vituperation,” Floribeth interjects, a little bit louder this time, “and, also, he heard you just fine.”
“That’s right, ma’am,” Rafael nods.
“Ah,” Veronica drawls, “she speaks at last!” When Rafael doesn’t make a move to get off the porch, Veronica waves him off, saying: “It’s a girl thing. And it’s going to take a while - rest assured, I’ll personally drive her home after we finish our talk.”
“She’s going to take me off the board.”
The glance that Rafael gives her is enough for her to realize that he’s quietly asking her to elaborate.
“You know how we talked about Triad the other day, right? Meet the HBIC.”
“What do I do?” comes Rafael’s mental query, tinged with distress. “How can I help you?”
She hugs him. Holds on tight. Holds on longer than she should. “You’re gonna get those two, and yourself, into the car and go home, Ninja Turtle,” she mutters, so quietly that only people with enhanced hearing can pick up on it, “And I’m going to think my way out of whatever fresh hell I’m about to be subjected to.”
What is your favorite scene you’ve written for them?

i've said it before and i'll say it again: for a show called legacies, they didn't do much with their existing legacies (bartholomew fell jr, hope, josie, lizzie - stefanie wasn't there either and she should have been there from the jump instead of them banking on a potential season five to introduce her for real), nor did they give the new characters any lasting, credible, meaningful legacies of their own that they could grow into or change.
(yes, i know they made raf a direct descendant of king arthur which would have been badass if they did anything with it, but they didn't. they actually tried it with mg and his mom having inherited and being in charge of triad industries but then completely disregarded that arc as the seasons went on. granted, erica ash - the woman who played veronica greasley - passed away in real life so i do think that also has something to do with that plot point falling through, but still.)
flori's legacy is heavily tied into the night world and into the harman family through her mother's side, but i wanted to give jed a legacy of his own, too. a legacy that wasn't just built on negativity. (by the time s4 of the show rolled around, jed got an actual backstory, but arrow's backstory for jed goes far deeper and is written with far more care and love and nuance so that's the one i adhered to in the fic.)
which is a great segue into this: there's a subplot in the flori fic that is all about flori tutoring jed ala haley and nathan from one tree hill (which was very much my inspo, i'm not ashamed to admit as much) and in that plot and in those scenes, they're getting to know each other and i very much enjoyed the banter and the back and forth they had as jed slowly opened up and allowed flori to get to know him by telling her little anecdotes about his mom and the stories she told him and explained how his family got their last name. (i know that out of universe it's a tribute to ben levin's mom as tien is her maiden name, but i wanted a reason for the name in universe too.)
and that's my favorite scene i've written for flori: the one in chapter 14 of the flori fic where she's tutoring and bonding with jed in the library.
