Racist Latter-day Saint

There’s a parody account on Twitter called “Racist Latter-day Saint” that takes things said by and about LGBTQ people and uses them to defend racism. The things they tweet are actually pretty stomach-turning. And the #DezNat group on Twitter claims anyone who doesn’t laugh at it doesn’t understand the joke, that it’s all satire.

I found a response I like a lot which explains why this is poor satire and not funny.

Just wanna say that racism is not alright.

That no one should feel like a second class citizen in the country they were born in.

No one should be afraid to walk (run, jog,etc) around their neighborhood.

Or when they get pulled over by police.

Or when the police come to "question" them.

Or when they pass a cop in the street.

Or when they reach in their pockets.

Or when they wear a hoodie.

Or when they go to school.

The point is, no one should be afraid in their country because of the color of their skin.

This has to end.

If you think I'm an oppressor just because I'm white, then that makes you the racist, pal. Like I said, to claim that a particular race is racist just because they are that race is the literal definition of racism!

P.S. If you're not white, you don't get to decide what's a slur against whites. Just like if you're not black, you don't get to decide what's a slur against blacks.

Today is a rough day for a lot of people. Our president seems to think that the Transgender community is a burden and that they don't deserve to be able to serve this country if they choose to do so. It's disgusting that a coward like him can try to take away the rights of a whole group of people in this way. To him someone's genitals is more important than their willingness to serve this country. To all my transgender friends and followers I'm so sorry for all you have to endure and know that I am here and stand with you. You are tougher and more courageous than most of the people I know and you deserve so much better. This is not the treatment any of you deserve and it is a smack in the face to trans vets and active military personnel. Pointless discrimination needs to stop. It's a waste of our time and energy to try to oppress people just because they might be slightly different then us. Orientation, gender, religion, and race is something that hurts no one. We are all human beings on one planet that is literally flying though space. Why can't we all see past someone's appearance and see that we are all the same and we have to all work together if we want to survive on this planet.

ok i'm a steven universe fan, and I'm here to apologize on behalf of the rest of the hostile fans who insulted you because your opinion was different. while i personally don't like svtfoe, i can see why people prefer svtfoe to su, and I think everyone is entitled to they're own opinions. I'm personally just surprised that a show that preaches love and peace can have such a toxic audience. hope you have a great day.

I'm not surprised, just disappointed. It's been my experience that the people preaching "love" and "tolerance" (known as SJWs) don't seem to practice what they preach because they're too busy whining about "racism" and "discrimination." Most of the "discrimination" they see hardly qualifies as such. Usually they just see a person by how many "historically marginalized" groups they fall into and fail to judge based on who they are. This is the exact opposite of what MLK meant when he said "I have a dream that my children will grow up in a world where they are judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character!"
