Under the cut!
Hello! I have a bit of a weird question for you, if you don't mind. Do you have any advice on slimming down meshes converted from TS4? There's a pair of jeans I love that were converted but they clip with everything and I'd like to slim them down to work with more tops, but I'm a bit unsure the best way to go about doing that. Thank you!
Hi racky!
And I don’t mind at all! As for slimming down meshes, you’ll have to export the mesh using simPE and then importing the mesh into milkshape to “slim” the shape down. Once you got the shape you want, you can export the new mesh and then replace the old one with the new slimmer shape.
(Just make sure when you replace the mesh, you copy the filename in the GMDC and paste it back in so you don’t accidentally overwrite the mesh)
Hello! I have two wcifs from post/190827165941 if you don't mind! WCIF the bedding (so pretty!) and the couch? Thank you so much!
Hi! I don’t mind at all ^___^ the sofa was the easy part - it’s a rather recent conversion by awesome @thepixelry and you can find it from here!
That bedding was definitely an interesting one to hunt down. I’ve had it in my game for so long that I was almost sure it’s by Maxis, but it was custom content after all - from the very first ATS bedroom set, no less! It is pretty and has stood the test of time incredibly well. I hope it serves you well too!
Reblogging 99% of your stuff to my simspiration blog like it's nothing. Your builds and decorating are amazing! I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are some of your favorite sites to use for floorplans? I'm looking to get into building in the game and don't really know where to look for anything to do with building besides looking at other simmer's posted floorplans.
Thank you so much!
Most of the time I don’t really copy floorplans when building; I use zillow and houzz for exterior inspiration, and then I either try to do a floorplan based on the interior photos, or I just wing it and put down interior walls in places where it looks like it works lmao.
However, when I do use floorplans, I either use houseplans.com, or I just google something like “Colonial/Farmhouse/Midcentury floorplan.” I can also recommend @vintagehomeplans! Tons of adorable houses.
@rackysims replied to your photo: Tonight’s project is apparently….making skies?...
Couldn’t you edit nimis sky to make it layer with the moving clouds and horizon?
I tried that first because that would’ve been the easy solution, obviously. Unfortunately, the overall size of the globe, the actual object, that Nimi’s skies sit on is significantly smaller than the globe that Lowedeus’s skies and moving clouds AND the skylines sit on. Simply altering the layering can’t compensate for this, no matter what order you layer in.
So then the next step was seeing if Nimi’s textures could simply be altered to fit Lowedeus’s globe because that would’ve been easy to do, too. But, 1) the aspect ratios of the textures are too different (Nimi = 1024x512, when you crop out the extraneous transparency. Lowedeus = 2048x2048, with no extraneous transparency) and 2) the two globes’ mapping is completely different. Therefore, they’re incompatible, at least not without a crapton of editing....and at that point you’re pretty much making a completely new sky anyway. :)
Soooo, that’s what I’m doing because it’s easier to start with a new 10 megapixel photo that I can crop/resize as needed than it is to alter something that’s all wrong in terms of aspect ratio. Even so, because of the mapping, it’s not as simple as plopping a photograph into the texture image. There’s a lot of editing to make it seamless with the way the mapping works. I’ve been working on the first one for about three hours now, figuring out the mapping and editing the pic I’m working from to fit, and I’m still not all the way there.
I probably should have clarified what I meant, my apologies. When slimming a mesh, I'll have it in milkshake with one that has a normal TS2 body for reference, but I'm not sure about the best way to edit the mesh, like is it better to go vertex by vertex or work in sections?
Oh! My bad XD Hmm I think it’s easier just to select a group of vertices and just the scale button at 0.99 till you have it at the shape you want. It doesn’t have to match the default TS2 shape exactly - just as enough to avoid it clipping into slimmer tops. :)

Adorable! And yay for the top-only version; I love Amaryll’s flats, but I also love to have options. :)
I always use the top-only versions too! (or at least most of the time) Thank you! :D
