Hello Readers,

I hope you’re well, especially amid the last 1.5 years of the pandemic. It is now more than ever we need heroes like Sonic to save the day, or at least take our minds off of the darkness that we’re all living through in this moment.

Before going into Sonic news reporting, I wanted to introduce you to me and tell you how my love for Sonic began. It was many years ago, but to this day nothing makes me happier than the magic that Sonic, Tails and Knuckles bring me. I must admit that I have a strong bias for the Classic Canons - 2D games, SatAM, and Archie Comics, but I am working on getting to know the new stories and characters so that I can start to build a relationship with them too.

First and foremost, my favourite character out of the franchise is Knuckles the Echidna. When he was introduced to me in 1994 his mysterious origins and his “chuckle” (SEE - THAT CANYON SONG WAS ALL WRONG) had me hooked. When Knuckles was finally a playable character about 6 months later my life was complete. From there I became invested in the Archie spin-offs, until Mr. Pender started really fucking shit up (LSD, like c’mon you fucking idiot)... sadly, it seems like the franchise somewhat died out shortly after Sonic Adventure and I became a teenager and lost the magic.

Finally, as a grown woman, I discovered old ROMS and started playing the classics all over again (solid thanks to Whitehead for igniting the fire in all the Millennials needing some cheer).... and big ups to Evening Star for Sonic Mania.... you brought back the child in me I lost and needed.

Anyways, I digress, my story started in 1991 when Dad brought home a Genesis and a game called Sonic. Usually my father played NFL games or shit like Altered Beast which did nothing for me, but when he turned this on my imagination went wild. Each level was so fast, colourful and fun and Sonic was just so lovable and yet... so edgy. My heart was hooked the moment we hit Starlight zone. The music, the stars.....it was just everything that a 3 year old needed...

The next day when I was alone, I plugged the cartridge in and began my journey. Albeit dying 400 times on Emerald Hill, when I finally succeed to Marble Zone my journey turned into S3K with hyper emeralds and every Archie comic ever printed - yes, even the shit ones with PINK Sally.

Here we are today friends - millennials waking up from a forgotten past ready to love what we love and be proud of the moments and stories who made us. I hope you enjoy this journey with me....
