[BREAKING] Extranet Blackout Resolved, Affected Clusters Returning
Alisse Culveo, The Thessian Observer An old information warfare virus has been identified as the cause of extranet outage over the past several days. The Citadel Council’s Communications Bureau has identified that the cause of the past several days’ worth of blackouts was a military-grade information warfare virus that targeted communications buoys via an undisclosed vulnerability in their software. A patch to address the issue has been issued and is being installed across the affected clusters at time of this article’s publishing. “This thing is the stuff of nightmares, and we sure lived in one for nearly a week! I don’t think I caught any sleep at all until we had a fix in place and certified to deploy,” Ahlek Garin, one of the engineers who scrambled to solve the problem, commented to us. “I sure hope some military folks are slapping themselves on the forehead for this one. Info warfare of this caliber only gets broken out for a C-Space/T-Space slugout, I’d say. So who left this [REDACTED] in a hulk out there in the backwaters, if it came out of that derelict in Radak?” The answer may only be for the Citadel’s archives, as Citadel Fleet has impounded both the hulk and MSV Seenou Cap pending further investigations.
