This is me and my very cool, very rad brown dad at Niagara Falls. I wanted to go to there for my birthday and he took me in the middle of winter even though he hates the cold.  How RBD of your dad to dress you in lilac and dress himself like Johnny Flippin’ Cash.

Made a tumblr just to send you this photo of my rad brown dad. I have never seen this photo until today but it was instantly my favorite. My dad was always the one behind the camera unless it’s a family photo, in which he always looks super stoic. But this is my rad dad being goofy and getting down with play time circa 1993 with my sister. We also think he totally set the camera up on a tripod and took this because he’s just that kind of guy.

Appa and I lighting sparklers for Deepavali. Growing up, he never held me back from doing something because of my gender. It was a long time before I realized how unusual and special that was.
