I used to really like the gone girl style of movies but now I'm kinda iffy on them. Especially the thrillers. Why do they always have this notion of the master manipulator woman faking injuries to pin them on the innocent (he's just a jerk, not a criminal uwu) husband.
I know it's like yeah girl boss villains but nowadays I feel bitter seeing that stuff.
Like I went through so much even as a child and none of these male villains EVER get punished nor did I get justice.
And in media it's these master manipulator woman archetype who literally don't exist? And even if so called femme fatales exist I feel like they're still paying for their manipulation via sex anyway like that's not real power.
When it's males writing that bs it's obviously their tendency to victim blame and shift responsibility on women.
When women write that stuff it feels more like an attempt at equality and it sucks that when I view it in the context of reality, it just feels bad.
You know what I mean? Ideally in fiction this wouldn't be a big deal but due to reality and women not getting any justice from abusive men this feels like a slap in the face idk.
I still love gone girl in many ways but hate that it adds on to the propaganda that women are masters at manipulation, fake dv and false accusations against men.
It's usually the men faking it (Johnny Depp perfect example).
Also hate that I can't just enjoy a media in isolation anymore because of shitty moid opinions.
