Hawkeye hasn't always been Deaf, it was only like, certain bits of runs. Like, the... I wouldn't say recent run cuz it was in like, 2013? but like, that was the main one that had him deaf, and several from much older runs too. I don't think he's currently deaf but I could be wrong.

The biggest problem with how he's used in the comics is that like, certain writers keep in line with him being deaf while others genuinely don't give a fuck and write him entirely hearing abled, and like, especially because of the whole period between House of M and Matt Fractions run made him proper hearing abled again, which made writers forget even harder.
Oh okay, so Hawkeye is one of those disabled characters who’s disability is entirely optional if the writer just doesn’t feel like writing a disabled character.

It shouldn’t surprise me a man who’s never had to deal with a single fucking hardship in his life would think this way, but my god to have your only answer be “just leave the cops alone” when you can afford to sit untouched in your fucking suburb and not have to care while everyone else has no choice but to fight to have a chance not to get brutalized and shot by these bastards just cause they feel like doing it. That kind of brain damage is long baked in and I’m not sticking around here to humor it.
