This is a #radicalselfie. I know I've been posting a lot of selfies lately, and I also know I don't need to explain myself. But I want to. It seems like I'm being self indulgent when I post these "glamour shots," but here's what you don't see. I've been struggling with anxiety and depression because of a lot of life transitions happening at once. I gained a lot of weight recently so many of my clothes don't fit. I'm in grad school so I rarely get to spend time on myself. For the past year I've just soldiered on feeling disgusted with myself and my appearance. When I post a selfie I am affirming my beauty and showing the world me at my best. I don't post them for you. I post them for me. #radicalselflove
