like i said, i don't agree on most of the things she says. but i do believe that women are handled very poorly in games. it does make me sigh whenever i have to play as a guy who has to rescue another personality-less girlfriend. like, i friggin loved Devil May Cry 3 for the gameplay and Dante, but Nero's girlfriend was such a husk of nothingness that I rolled my eyes every time there was a scene with her. I'm told that I'm suppose to care about her, but i honestly don't give a shit.
Nah, I get you. The damsel trope gets kinda tiring sometimes, but it's easy to write and it sells, which in turn helps make even more games like that. I think I remember playing KH when I was smaller and it always pissed me off that I was this close to rescuing Kairi, only to have her disappear.
If anything, I'd like creators to make more female characters that you actually want to care about. Characters like Faith from Mirror's Edge and the various ladies from 999/Zero Escape and Phoenix Wright are very well-written and you actually get the time to care about what happens to them.
It'd be nice if Anita focused on that instead of the drivel she's spouting now, but she's just hankering for attention without providing any real solution.
