~MONOCHROME~
Another meeting with Radioman
with the radioman experiments, would the radioman send and receive signals directly almost like telepathy, controlling the radios as extensions of his body? or was it just a more convenient, albeit grisly, way to carry the radio around and still needed manual control?
(Context: Radioman)
Something closer to the second one! At the time, radios were clunky, heavy, and unreliable. Having a person basically hooked up to a radio, directly receiving and sending out information at every moment, would be a big asset to a military.
As you can see in the image, the person's mouth is basically hooked up to a microphone, so everything they say is transmitted to the airwaves. In a way, this person has relinquished their privacy in exchange for this technological "upgrade".
I've finally gotten around to drawing two character designs I had in my head for like two years? You'd think I'd come up with more creative names in that time - but then again they are just "dude with a radio shoved into his brain" and "bounty hunress" so...
Oswikian Fusilier Radioman Gift for a friend
The quiet trade republic of Oswik is a mostly silent and peaceful country with a generally small population. Considering it’s position on the Saposian Sea, it’s logical that most of their forces and industry is poured into Naval power - however, due to a rather unstable northern region of Westhalia, there is an ever looming threat of incursion, either by warlords, bandits or a conquering power. Therefore Oswik does not foresake its land forces - pouring a lot of resources into making their rather small army not only up to date, but practically elite and with state of the art equipment.

“Psst, you awake?”
Keeping your eyes shut, you contemplated whether or not you actually wanted to answer that question. On one hand, if you kept quiet, maybe you could drift back to sleep and catch a few more hours of rest, but on the other hand, you knew it was George based on his voice and the fact that he had a hand gently resting on your leg, and you always enjoyed your evening talks with him.
Exhaling sharply, you snuggled closer to his side and shook your head. “No.” you answered, earning an airy chuckle from him.
“I didn’t know you could talk in your sleep. That’s pretty impressive.” he dipped his head down ever-so-slightly and pressed his lips to yours lightly. “Can you kiss in your sleep too?”
You cracked a small smile as he kissed you again. “Yes.” you finally opened your eyes. “I’m very talented.”
“I’ll say.” he kept his voice low so as to not wake the snoring soldiers around the two of you. “I have a question for you.”
“It better be something important for you to disturb my slumber,” you warned jokingly.
George only shrugged. “What if I just wanted to talk to you?”
“Do you just want to talk to me?”
“Kind of, but I mainly wanted to ask you a question.”
