Billy Ray Cyrus is ushering in a new chapter with the release of “On Our Way Along,” a heartfelt duet with his daughter, Noah Cyrus. The song serves as the lead single from Billy Ray’s upcoming album The Hill, set to arrive June 16. More than a simple collaboration, the track highlights the deep creative and personal ties within the Cyrus family. Long-awaited news has arrived

May 10, 1940 - 9:58 pm 

In the last few months, nothing much has happened. Papa is still at the border and despite that, the people here in Paris seemed to forget there was a war happening at all. Mama seemed to be in less of a traumatic state and is helping out around the house more. There have been rumors going around that the war was all fake and people are now calling it the “phony war,” yet Papa still didn’t come home. Not even for Holy Week. 

Today was a different scenario. We turned on the radio and the person on the radio said, “After nearly seven months of waiting, the Germans have finally begun to attack the western side of Europe. Today, they attacked Belgium and will be headed towards France. The Allied soldiers are defending Belgium from the catastrophes the Germans have brought along.”

Mama, who had just recently calmed down, went into another phase of panic. I think I’m going to sneak into her room later and steal her diary to find out what’s going on with her. Augustin is also acting pretty weird. After we heard the announcement he barged into his room and locked the door. Maybe he’s still feeling guilty for not being there with Papa. I am feeling rather okay though. Even though I know that there are terrible war-like things happening right now, at least I’m not the one on the front line fighting the Germans. And this is happening so far away from us, so I can almost pretend that it isn’t happening at all. Except Papa is there. Oh, I hope Papa is safe.

Bonsoir internet dwellers!

My name is Sophie Blanchet, I’m 16 years old, and I live in Paris, France. Today has been a really tough day so I thought that if I wrote about it here on the internet it would make me feel a little bit better. So here’s how it began; it was around 7 pm tonight, our family (me, Mama, and my brother Augustin) was cleaning up after dinner when Mama turned the dial on the radio. As it crackled to life, we heard “... and we know that there has been some unrest in Germany lately, but after invading Czechoslovakia and Sudetenland, they have now decided to invade Poland. Just earlier, both France and Britain have declared war on Germany…” 

It was incredibly horrifying what we just heard, and I think Mama took it the hardest. She shook her head repeatedly and whispered “no… this can’t be… another war…” She even dropped a plate on the floor!

This was really troubling for us because Augustin and I have never seen Mama act this way before. And now, even after a couple of hours, Mama is still acting really weird. She didn’t even bother to clean up the mess she made with the plate. She just keeps on staring into space and out the windows as if she were waiting for something. It’s nearly time for bed, and Mama won’t allow us to turn off the radio. She keeps on guarding it as if the radio people will say something new. All they’re talking about is Poland and the Great War and what might happen next.

To be honest, this whole thing is frightening. Plus Papa is out of town, I hope he comes back soon.
