Great little story about an Indian boy who wants to change his name from Sunil to Neil until his Mum steps in. Appealed to me as my name is Neil, which when I was younger I didn’t particularly like but now have grown to appreciate it much like the narrator.

This American Life | Birds & Bees

An episode about how to talk to children about important stuff. The final part about talking about death is particularly moving.

All Songs Considered | The Songs That Make Us Cry

This team plays some of the results from their survey about the songs that bring tears to your eyes. The story about the song played when Robin Hilton’s cat died brought back particular memories of the song I played when we left the vet after my dog, who had been my companion for fifteen years, was put down. It is “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” from the Treme Season 1 soundtrack. Every time I hear it now it brings back memories.
