Week 8 Media Internship

This week I was super busy at my internship and didn't get a chance to take pictures. One of our other traffic operators was out for the week so I got to help do the logs for the week. I entered the log schedule that includes the spots as well as entering them into the computer. Once i had finished entering the spot copy i was able to get into the logs and work on them, they're really just a giant puzzle that you have to go through and enter the spots into the designated time slots and then go back and make sure there aren't any doubles in a stop set and make sure that companies that offer the same services aren’t next to each other as well. After I put all of the spots in the time sets and made sure there weren't any discrepancies I go in and make sure every hour has the same amount of commercials in each stop set and maneuver the commercials around if they don't just so it sounds better. Also this week I got to help with a live remote on the station that I actually work for because my boss was out at the Sodpoodles game throwing out the first pitch! All around it was a very busy week at the office and next week I will begin my final large project.

This week at my internship I worked on sales orders for the stations as well as interviewed Joette Campbell with Family Support Services about their upcoming fundraiser for the issues and programs show I wrote about last week. As the weeks have progressed I have started to take more responsibility and I have been able to work on the logs easier and ask fewer questions. Next week,I am going to be able to do a whole log by myself without help to see how much I've learned in my internship.
