Yogi wished so strongly that the letter discussing the school came with a notice of a vacation, because if he had known every student would be on one immediately upon being accepted, he would have been better prepared.
Admittedly, he didn't know much about normal schools (unless fighting projections of demon-like creatures was normal), but he felt this was a little strange. All he had was his Nyanperowna costume, some clothing, and some candy. Beyond that, he was practically without belongings. It took some accidental eavesdropping to learn there was a store he could go to in order to get a few necessities, so he promptly made his way there despite how dark it was beginning to be.
Now eased, Yogi hummed a cheerful, made-up tune as he perused the aisles. So far, he had added more sweets he didn't need, colorful pens (which came with a cute, colorful journal he fell in love with the second he saw it), dental items, tissue paper, bath salts, and shampoos, among a few other things. Being fairly certain he had the money to purchase another item today, he turned down a random aisle and saw a table set out for military goods. He blinked and, driven by curiosity rather than the need for any military items, walked over to the table.
Now that he stood over it, he saw what was set out; there was a large pack for putting weapons and bullets in (though the table was lacking weapons entirely, he briefly noted), a bulletproof vest, and night-vision goggles. Before he even finished his thought, he was smiling. Gareki... Gareki was one of many people he left on the Second Ship, which was a thought that would have been detrimental to his mood if he wasn't beginning to think about what sort of souvenirs he should get everyone now. They were all like his family, and he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if he returned to them empty-handed.
Yogi leaned to the side to set his basket down and grabbed for the oddly stylish night-vision goggles. After a bit of difficulty, he strapped them properly over his head and simply left the store that way (not before leaving some money on the counter, however), wanting to test them out. Humming again, he strolled around the building, and despite just how green everything was, he could still make out the outlines of all his surroundings perfectly. The figure that would suddenly appear in front of him when he turned the corner was no exception.
He yelped, cutting himself off mid-hum and leaped back into a defensive position, crouched slightly and arms crossed over each other. It took a few seconds for him to examine the figure and straighten himself out. It was just a harmless-looking boy, likely not much younger than him. He wore sunglasses, so Yogi assumed that the stranger might be blind even with his lack of a cane or a dog or anything, which made him feel a bit bad for having been prepared to hurt him now.
"A-ah... You scared me... I'm sorry if I startled you, too. Were you trying to get somewhere? Have you been feeling your way around...!?"
"Don't you have friends who can help lead you places!? Where is it you want to go? I can help, definitely! It's dangerous to walk around without knowing where you're going!" The fact that maybe the other simply enjoyed wearing sunglasses at night didn't even cross his mind.
