As if by magic, the eel twins somehow managed to know how to get beneath his scales in just the right, particular ways, with even the slightest comment. At least when it came to Jade, being more controlled and collected, Sebek could find some sort of common ground with him. Their brief time together in Harveston, albeit somewhat forced by Epel's convincing nature, proved they could be amicable with one another. Floyd, on the other hand, was still an enigma, despite being the more seemingly forthright of the dynamic duo. And, at least in this particular instance now, the more threatening. ❝ DO IT THEN! ❞ A roaring command, laced with a low growl, brought a deafening silence down around them as Sebek's voice ebbed into a guttural hiss, primordial and thick. Reptilian pupils narrowed until they were near non-existent slits, his sudden rage at being so casually threatened evident. Sebek breached the elder's personal space, his face leaning in dangerously close to ❛ misbehave, ❜ as it was so aptly put. As ignoble as it was, he was ready to fight. Even if Floyd won, Sebek would make sure the victory was worthless, as he'd rip a chunk from the eel with ease. ❝ Do you truly think I'd tolerate insolence from the likes of you? By all means, try my patience. Though, I think your master would prefer you intact. ❞

A scenario was given, and a challenge was offered. He dared to think that the art of acting wasn't something she's capable of? It was a worthy example of how she had been raised to perfect the masterful skill of acting. The opposite, the opposite, the opposite of what she usually was. The fidgety, the shy, the bashful young woman. A softer-sounding voice, quieter and sweeter like nothing else. A doting sweetheart. It wasn't hard; acting simply came too easy for her. With a snap of the fingers and this fun game begins. They could be acting as if Zarina was a meek and bashful maiden in love with the master architect, unable to confess her feelings. There were countless opportunities.

How fast will Kaveh ask her to stop?

"It's hard to... come up with phrases when you... look at me so intently, with such high expectations, Kaveh," she begins, her voice so different compared to how usually is. Despite remaining her own voice, it's quieter and softer. It feels as if another person is talking. Different tonalities, different body language, and different looks she gives him. As if shy, glancing at him and then away, then the same gaze is cast down. This bashful and sweet acting, oh, he wanted to see such a different style of behavior? He'll get it. "I apologize for... for being so rash before. I-I didn't mean to make you upset. I only worry..." Lips tremble as she looks up at him, eyes having a light flicker of tears gathering at the corners. How good of an actress she is, changing her whole behavior from independent and assertive to bashful and shy. "I like it... when you smile, but I don't like.. when you, um, w-when you overwork yourself." Oh, he's in for the whole theater play. Well, the best acting always had a sprinkle of truth within it. Her words aren't a lie, but spoken in such a manner? How different it was. "Can I really not be of any help?"

How I feel about this character

Floyd is hands-down one of my favorite characters. I love so much about him, from how he interacts with the world around him to his personality, which ( mood swings aside ) can go from goofy to terrifying in seconds. He's so much fun, and his child-like way of expressing his enjoyment is precious. The gap-moe between that and his role as a member of what's basically an in-school gang and his appearance of a member of some sort of fish mafia gives me life. He's the best boy!

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Obviously Riddle is my number one. From their manga chapter to in-game moments, the shipping hints are ridiculous. I think they're so hilarious because they go so far beyond opposites attract. But I also think Floyd would be really good for Riddle, because when he feels like it, he's incessant about things, so I think he would be the type of partner who would be really good at teaching Riddle to loosen up and that it's okay to just take a break and have a good time.

I also ship him with Kalim, just because I think their interactions are really cute. That one unfortunately doesn't go too deep for me jgdhrsej but I love every piece of fanart I see, and I love the idea of Kalim's never-ending happy energy being like a jumpstart for Floyd's bad moods ( i.e. really good for getting him out of them ). I think he'd give Floyd as much attention as he wants and would support him and adore him in ways Floyd isn't used to, since he's usually the one getting in people's faces with his attention!

Honorable mention for Idia. I think Floyd and Idia is a hot ship lmaoooo.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Floyd and Jade, obvi. What more can I say? They're great. I haven't liked a pair of twins this much since the Hitachiins, so,,, it's been years.

Floyd and Azul is wonderful too! They seem to have a complicated relationship ( Azul seems to have one with both twins ), where, imo, Azul seems to question their friendship often/think that whatever they have could be easily ended if the twins get tired of him and decide he isn't providing suitable entertainment anymore. It's the prey holding the predators on a leash which is kind of awesome, even more so because the predators are letting it happen. But then, going beyond that, there's something very genuine there since they've all been together since they were kids. It makes me happy.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I don't really have one ( I don't think ). Maybe that he isn't stupid? I know that's a fact given the canon material, but certain parts of the fandom like to portray him that way which isn't something I enjoy.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I really want to be able to have a look deeper into the family life and childhood of the twins. I want to see why they are the way they are, because out of all of the other non-housewardens, they seem to be seriously inherently screwed up somewhere. And that's even taking Rook into account, because while I can see Rook portraying certain obsessive traits and maybe a hint of sadism at time, most of that seems teasing, and he seems to have a large heart behind all of it, whereas Floyd and Jade seem completely self-serving and are liable to wage psychological warfare on others ( Jade ) or get just plain violent ( Floyd ). I also want to see more about their relationship with each other! I know they love each other and care a lot, we've seen that part is genuine. But I want an even closer look. How similar are they? Does this ' love ' they have for each other extend past self-interest? In other words, would they sacrifice for each other or put the other above their own selfishness? I'm not sure, but I'd like to see.

He was really stubborn, this guy, wasn't he?

Sure, school trips were annoying; riding the bus with the whole class especially was absolutely jarring. But who'd asked Yata to come sit next to him, of all people?

It wasn't like they were friends or anything. Why would they? They'd never done anything together save getting their ass kicked by a bunch of seniors. Also something Saruhiko hadn't asked company for.

At first, Yata had been just as irritating as he'd expected, trying to chat him up, asking stupid questions. Saruhiko kept trying to ignore him, putting his headphones on to ignore his voice; at best, he'd give short responses. He'd been close to snapping and telling him to leave him alone, when Yata finally seemed to get a hint and fell quiet in the seat next to him.

But even like this, it was as if Saruhiko could practically feel him vibrate with pure energy. And now, that energy was getting a bit sulky.

Annoying... Saruhiko didn't like to feel like he was being a bully.

"... Tch." With a click of his tongue, he slipped off one of the earphones from his right ear, eyes still very intentionally pointed at the window while his left hand brought the small wired device right in front of Yata's face. A temporary peace offering.

"The bus' noise is annoying. You can listen in, if you want."
