When we left last time, I had just witnessed my Momma and my teacher, Lucile Rivière, in a compromising situation. However, it all worked out for the best, and there was no lasting trauma, to myself or our family relationship. Ms. Rivière, soon became a permanent fixture at our house and she and my mother really cared for one another, and that was good enough for me.
But what happened a few months later, was something else entirely!
Mother and Papi decided to leave Strangerville, as mother said the “elements” there were not conducive to raising a young child. We soon found ourselves in a small house in some field in the middle of no where in a place called Henford on the Bagley. This would be where I would reside until I left some years later to attend college. (This house was the original EA built house I added a couple bedrooms and redecorated for the Castro’s)
What I soon found out was this town had much fewer residents than Strangerville, and everyone seemed to know everyone else along with their business! Being the extrovert I am, I made it my mission to become acquainted with everyone I could in this town. And talk about non-conducive activities!! WHOA! But, I will get to all that soon enough.
Ms. Rivière moved here with us and soon found a teaching job, thankfully in grade school, as I was soon entering middle school. Mama, finally was able to realize her dream somewhat and open her very own bakery in the little village of Finchwick. Of course, Papi was able to have real gardens, and even got a few chickens. Everyone was happy here, so I had to be as well, I suppose. Learning all the residents of this back woods town, and all their secrets, made it somewhat easier to live here. Some of the resident were more interesting than others, of course, so there are only a few of them that I REALLY got to know. I began a journal, and the events of the next few years became good ideas for my writing career!
Here, let me introduce some of the most interesting families of the area. First Let’s meet the Holland Family, as I became good friends with one of their son’s, Sean.
