Double Soul Double Rosette RL

So, there's usually a lot of fuss of the weekly Raffle Lioness (especially when she's got a combo base or rosette), and naturally this week is no exception! A double Soul, double rosette RL is certainly something anyone would be thrilled to have in their pride, not to mention the introduction of Tail and Leg Banding Lilac as new markings. RLs are a wonderful resource for helping the community spread new or rare markings, and this particular lioness stands to help the community in secondary way.

There was recently revealed a horrifying betrayal of trust and abuse on the part of a Lioden user. While we may not know the exact numbers, we know that victims have been slowly coming forward (be is anonymously or with their names out in the open). While Sultry may no longer be able to torment people on LD, that doesn't mean she hasn't left sorrow and broken promises along with the trauma in her wake. This Soul RL is the very thing Sultry terrorized the Soul market and breeders over, her ultimate goal released in a beautiful package right after her removal from the game.

Assuming the winner of the RL is willing to sell, a small group consisting of myself and a few friends intend to purchase her. If we are able to attain her, or at least a clone, we will be mass breeding her to produce clones and near-clones as quickly as we can. Once our base group has a clone to work with, and one member has kinged their clone with a clean mutated rep, we will be breeding to give away further clones and near-clones to those who we know (or who are comfortable coming forward to us in private) who suffered at Sultry's hands. These clones and near-clones will be gifts to the community, an apology for what happened to them and the hope that they can still take enjoyment in a game that is meant to be a fun escape from real life where you can have pretty pixels and not deal with awful people. We will ask that those who are gifted lions continue to pay it forward, and keep spreading this beautiful girl as far as possible, but wholey acknowledge  that once each lion has been gifted it is up to the user what they will do with her. Clones and near-clones will be either adols and sex-changeable or breedable females when they leave our hands. No patrolled males unless one is specifically asked for.

Our current offer stands at a couple thousand GB in value and growing, a mixed offer of pure and high-value items, along with some hybrids. We are open to support from others, but are not currently adding anyone to the list of clone priority before community distribution, in order to expedite that goal. RL System Changes

So. Haven’t been here in a while, huh? Life got busy and I haven’t had a ton of time for Lioden recently, but time to talk about this I guess.

I don’t mind it, in summary, but I’m going more in depth about the raffle lioness system as a whole later down. Adding a read more bc this is a long rant post.

I’m not necessarily interested in a lot of raffle lionesses themselves. I like money more than I like having pretty pixels. I’m a marking preserver, I prefer to do my own projects with rare slots/keep rare slots alive when possible. I’ll go after heats sometimes, sure, but I mostly team up with my friends or other BOB members where they get the RL + clones and I would get King rights, in a scenario where we’re going after an RL. We’ve gone after... two (?) in recent memory, the Hellebore and the Ukame.

Raffle Lioness winners often face a very stressful time, so I think anything that could cut down on that works wonders for the community and is a good move. It’s not like there’s not other options for getting out the word you’re looking for a raffle lioness. There’s forum posts and the trading center. This doesn’t help the problem with marking slots dying, though, but we’re getting to that. When I’m conversing with an RL winner for a heat or something, I never want to stress them out. However, they’re often newer people who don’t know what the purpose of a raffle lioness even is, they’re not just pretty pixels, but they’re also a delivery system for dying markings or brand new ones. Newer players are confused by this, most of them don’t even know what a breed-only marking is, hell, a lot of Lioden veterans sometimes see a marking and go “is that bo or not?”. With the economy shifting towards BO attributes over applicators, the stress the winners are going to be under is only going to increase as more and more people start breeding BO.

This does nothing to solve the problem of RLs carrying dying marking slots, or extinct ones, going onto dead accounts, however. I’d like to see the Lioden team attempt to tackle a fix for that, be it a confirmation system, changing the entry fee, or the multiple RL system many have proposed before. This is a great first step in fixing RLs as a whole, as the winner experience definitely needed to be streamlined for their comfort and even safety. As someone who wants to keep rare slots alive and available, a change to help prevent these struggling markings from being doomed in limbo forever would be amazing.

I’m neutral on the user design situation though. I never cared much about designing RLs, and while I put on a few on the thread, I prefer working with what already exists and making my own projects.
