Have you seen my recent giveaway called “Aguinaldo ni Juan”? Well, I chose the winner few backs and it was Roxanne Fajardo’s photo. “The usual Fajardo Christmas for 6 consecutive years.”, this line caught my attention that’s why I picked her as a winner.
When I heard her full story, I was captivated.
To find out her full story and to see the your photos…
“Before, my mom was the only one working for the family while my dad stayed home. It was the set-up that I got used to, but it all changed when my mom got pregnant with the our youngest angel. My dad decided to leave and join the US Army when I was 10 so he could support the growing family. We transferred to better schools and experienced having the coolest gadgets that kids talk about. To sum it all up, our life became more comfortable. But there is always a price that we have to pay.
I remember sulking on Christmas day back in 2006, the first Christmas without my dad. As the Christmases went by, the sadness slowly turns into pride, contentment and happiness. Pride because as a soldier, we know he saves lives of people he doesn’t even know. Contentment because we are blessed enough to have shelter and food on the day of His birth. And happiness, because we feel the spirit of Christmas in our hearts. Many families are “complete” on Christmas day, but some are not “together”. Even though it is just through Skype, I can say that we have been spending Christmas “together”. We always keep these things in mind. The “Fajardo Christmas” was not that hard to accept because all of us can feel the love across the miles. :) “
Christmas is the time of the year where the whole family gather to celebrate this joyous moment that will be treasured forever. It’s when one of the family members is not present that you’ll feel your Christmas Season is not complete. So while every one in your family is there, make every moment special and don’t waste every second that you’re with them. Love like there’s no tomorrow.
Every one of us has its way of making their Christmas Special. In the case of Rox, it was being on a Skype with his working dad abroad that made it so special.
To all those who joined the Aguinaldo ni Juan Giveaway, thank you. Every photo has its story to tell. I’m glad that you celebrated the Holiday Season with full of love and with your families.
Have a more fun happy and fruitful life this 2013!
