Once again, I’m not usually one to speak out about problems in or out of the K-pop industry but this has to be said because I am someone who has a platform (A very small platform but nonetheless) and I plan to use this platform to spread happiness and peace. This world however just seems to be migrating further and further from the happiness and peace I am trying to promote.

This world is disgusting. If you asked me a couple of months ago I would say that in terms of racism, we have come a far way but now, I realize we are no different from the people who bought and sold slaves like they were shoes. Black people have already had it so hard with all the stereotyping. And to EVERY ONE of you, don’t you dare try and compare the stereotypes of your people to the stereotyping black men and women have to go through every day. Every black man walking the streets is thought to be a thug. Thought to be violent. Thought to be someone dangerous from the “Hood”. Every black woman who walks by has “an attitude” and is considered ratchet.
This problem has been talked about and protested for, for as long as I can remember, yet all the words fall onto deaf ears. Now that Geroge Floyd has brought the publics’ eyes back onto this issue, we are taking it more seriously than ever. Donald Trump thinks that this protest is stupid and chaotic? When we tried protesting calmly and rationally, they still had a problem with it and yet, nothing changed. We have a whole month dedicated to black history, and yes I think it is extremely important to learn about what has happened in the past but teachers and parents need to start teaching their kids that the past is the past and they hold all the possibility to change the future so that this kind of racism isn’t brought up again.
Many people are taking offence to the BLM (Black Lives Matter movement) and are saying that all lives matter. The LGBTQ community has said that all their lives matter as well. I have even seen some of my fellow Asians say that all Asian lives matter too. Are you fucking kidding me? This isn’t about you. Stop trying to insert yourself where you don’t belong. Are whites, Asians, Hispanics etc. getting the same type of police brutality and getting the same type of treatment? America has school shootings every couple of months and I’m not trying to offend anyone by saying this but most if not all of the school shooters were white. And what does the government and public say about it? Mental illness. They weren’t in the right state of mind. They were bullied therefore he had a reason. Yet when black males walk through the streets they are automatically assumed to be some sort of “thug”. Carrying a weapon, therefore, needs to be checked.
All you people who say that all lives matter, trying to disregard the situation at hand are scum. You guys are truly scum. And once again, not saying this to offend you but there is no way in hell that you think that whites are seen as equals to blacks. There is no way you are going to try and tell me that if Gorge Floyd was caucasian he would be treated the same.
I am an Asian woman who knows that when I have kids, I will worrying about them for every little thing that they do, but I live with the knowledge that I wouldn’t have to worry about my children getting hunted for their skin tone. I don’t have to worry about them getting randomly accused of weapons or violence. I don’t have to worry about them getting harassed by the police for walking down the street. But that’s the fear that Black men and women have to live with. This world is messed up and I just wish that these arrogant Karens would open their eyes and see what is really happening.
This is, unfortunately, the world we live in. I genuinely hate that there is nothing more I can say. I’m fuming with anger for all my sisters and brothers that have to face this. Please stay strong and I’m honestly praying that someone with a bigger platform then this says something more impactful so they can change the minds of more and hopefully we can be on the same page soon. I will now and forever stand with you. We will fight all the racist assholes together and I will do everything I can to help and spread awareness.
