As I transition from photojournalism to documentary art photography, I’m interested in how identity is constructed through internal memories and external influence. I am even more fascinated when this process of identity-making extends beyond stereotypical categories, especially when related to the nation state. Who are the anomalies in this process of identity creation, the misfits, the invisible in society and how can I tell a more honest and complex narrative about what I see?
