As Juliet walked towards the hospital, memories of her past began swarming through her head. The night she gave birth to her first born, William. The time he took his first steps and said his first words. And then there was her other son, Nicholas. Yet another precious boy born by her and her husband, Johnathan. Her chest filled with warmth as the happy memories decided to replay through her brain. It earned a small smile on her lips as she approached the hospital.
The hospital had changed since she had last stepped foot on the property. And why wouldn’t it have? Technology had advanced, as had the way buildings were put together. They were more sturdy and the new technology made it to where many people who would have been lost to an illness all those years ago, no longer had to die. Part of her even wished that time traveling was available, or even possible. Then maybe she could go back and save herself, instead of making the decision of being turned into a vampire.
She forced those foolish thoughts aside as she pushed the glass doors of the hospital open. The scent of the sterile instruments and fresh blood hit her like a ton of bricks and she snubbed her nose. Her fangs ached and threatened to unsheathe themselves. She clenched her jaw. God, she hoped they had what she was looking for.
The idea of hope caused her to think of the recent vampire she had just met. Hope is a dangerous thing. Juliet shook her head from side to side, pushing that thought out of her head too. She needed some type of hope. If she didn’t have it, then she’d never find out anything about her family history, or her husband and children.
As she approached the front desk, her eyes narrowed when she recognized someone out of her peripheral vision. None other than the vampire himself. Raiden. A very human sigh escaped her lips. “Didn’t think I’d see you here.” She said as she glanced towards Raiden. “Are you stalking me this time?” She asked, a small smile playing on her lips.
