Hi i’m liv, I’m new to the spiritual and tarot community here! While I am also on my own spiritual journey I’d love to offer my services to anyone who would like a reading from me. I strive to always come from a place of love and no judgement. I use tarot and lenormand cards and many times tie cards into their cosmic interpretations. A Brief History of Tarot

Whether you’re interested in becoming adept at reading the cards or you simply want a reading, it’s a good idea to know the history of tarot cards. Before there were tarot cards, similar playing cards were used, mostly by wealthy people, that came into being around 1375 in Europe. Some people believed these were brought over from Islamic societies and some believe that they came from Egypt. In 1440, triumph cards started being made for families of wealth. These 22 triumph cards closely resembled tarot’s major arcana. Tarot began as a parlor game for bored aristocrats, but in 1781 Antoine Court de Gebelin published a complex analysis of tarot that revealed the symbolism behind the cards. Decks quickly started being produced based on de Gebelin’s work. In 1791, the first tarot deck made specifically for divination purposes was made by Jean-Baptiste Alliette. Finally, in 1909 the Raider-Waite deck was made by Arthur Waite and artist Pamela Coleman Smith. This cleared the way for inspiration of the thousands upon thousands of decks available today.

The Raider-Waite deck is the clearest and most uncluttered tarot in existence. The Fool from the major arcana stands for each of us as we begin our journey of life. He is a fool because only because he has the innocent and unblemished faith to undertake such a journey with all its hazards, pain and of course the eventual gains.
