To define it, the card is about picking your battles, fighting a losing battle, learning to walk away from a fight, bullies, abuse of power, being defeated, being a bully, hogging something you can’t even make full use of for the sake of having it or being on top, winning the battle but losing the war or losing what really matters such as personal relationships or regard, choosing between love and war, taking the easy way out, losing something you care for because of a power differential, giving up, brute force, etc.

I’m not sure how to interpret it but I don’t like it. I’ve mainly been thinking about my incoming phone all day and checking the tracking obsessively. I shoulda just got it in person. I think I was also thinking my mom would think I was crazy for spending that much money. This card makes me think I have to be on it to make sure nothing goes wrong and be vigilant. That or admit defeat that I can’t control what happens and should just accept what happens next and relax.

Let’s look at Learn Tarot.

Oh it’s pretty different to my definitions. The keywords are self-interest, discord, and open dishonor. It talks about putting your own interests in front of others when you define your self as your personality/body instead of including the world around you. It says sometimes you do need to put your needs first and get your due so you’re not taken advantage of, but be careful not to hurt others in the process. It can also signify discord and “cheats, lies, tricks, deceits, even crimes.” It says do what’s best for everyone, including yourself.

So, I think I do need to stay vigilant that I don’t get screwed over today.

The Universal Waite tarot deck reminds me so much of Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon art. It's the 90's aesthetic, that soft colored pencil/pastel look both have. I just love it.
