Don't look at me au (Update)
In a universe where humanity is the more direct spawn of Unicron they have grown and fed on his own very spark energy for multiple millennia. This has altered humans in many strange, dangerous, ways.
One such is the absolutely DEVASTATING psychological effect they have on cybertronians when looking at human faces. The damage can be so severe that bots with lesser mental fortitude have gone insane from just a glance.
Lucky for them they are a tech savvy species that were able to quickly code a program that would automatically black out any human faces detected by their brain modules’. The technology however has a major downside as it causes major strain on cybertronians’ processors. If run for too long it could even cause permanent damage. So any human allies that intend to stick around would start wearing masks for their large friends’ comfort.
The Earth is populated with humans which you could only describe as slashers straight out of a blockbuster horror movie. They are odd, or just plain creepy and by nature prone to be quite violent. Which ironically enough makes it so they’re are them same general level of violence as our society is; since you can't attack just anyone if they’re always going to have a weapon and are just looking for a reason to use it.
Think something similar to the Addams family but everyone is just like that.™
While the kids are morally dubious at best with questionable sanity they are still a found family. They love each other and their bots… as much as they can anyways.
The Autobots meanwhile are trying to not get smothered in their sleep by children or have a spark attack from this insane planet. They all have fairly mixed feelings on their charges and humanity as a whole.

○ Zombies, ghosts, and other stereotypical monsters exist.
○ Summerween is celebrated by most people. (Basically just Halloween in the summer for those who didn't watch Gravity Falls)
○ Full face masks are an accepted form of casual fashion, you could even wear them at work.
○ If you are proven competent enough and own a license people can own weapons regardless of age.
○ Being scary in this world is considered an attractive trait.
○ The horror movie genre is the most competitive form of entertainment to make content in.
○ Severe mental disorders are fairly common.
Slight sidenote: I honestly don't know if they can technically still be considered disorders in this universe? Since being “normal and mentally stable” is kinda abnormal for them? Maybe it's still technically a disorder, it's just people don't really think they are?
