24 with Lucy & any member(s) of her polycule for the Soft Ship prompts please?
Thank you for this. ♡ So I loved this one and I chose to write about Lucy with the Blues Devil. (The way I'm writing him is basically that he's Mephistopheles but is currently getting souls as the Blues Devil, so his demonic appearance is similar to descriptions of Mephisto.)
The feeling of soft grass under Lucy's chest is grounding as she slowly tries to make her way back into her body, still floating on cloud 9. Cool sea air gently caresses her skin as she catches her breath. She feels a kiss pressed between her shoulder blades and she hums softly, but she knows it's a silent question, they've done this enough times. "You don't have to shift back into your human form yet if you don't want to."
Lucy hears the split two toned voice chuckle behind her, and before she knows it he's on the ground and she's laying on top of him, using his muscular red chest as a pillow as she gazes out toward the waves being illuminated by the full moon. Long black claws that have no business being as gentle as they are run through her hair and she sighs dreamily.
Mephisto, or as he's known these days, the Blues Devil, glances down at her. Her soul is glowing, iridescent swirls of color illuminating the night far better than the moon. In soft moments like this, he lets it mesmerize him. One day, he'll get her to break and he'll take her soul, but right now all he wanted to do was bask in its warmth and light.
"What do you think happens to stars when the fizzle out? Do you think that their energy becomes a new star, or do they just... become stardust?"
"You talk about stars as though they might have souls," he said, an amused tone in his voice.
He chuckled, "They don't."
She shifted so she could look into his eyes. One red eye and one white met her blue ones, "How can you say that with such confidence?"
"I remember them. I was in the Heavens close enough to reach out and touch them before Falling." He felt the old familiar sting that came when thinking about falling from Paradise, but he couldn't bring himself to stop looking at her eyes. "Your eyes remind me of them," he said it so calmly that she wondered if he realized exactly how romantic that statement was.
She blushed, "The way that you talk sometimes is like poetry."
He smirked at her, the charisma and bravado seeping out to hide the intimacy of the moment, "Careful darling, you're going to fall for my charms and I'll get that gorgeous inferno you call a soul." His actions didn't match his words as he pulled her a bit closer and wrapped his tail across her back.
Lucy knew this was a game of chess to them, one that she would bet they would be playing for a long time. She was more than willing to play it though, "If you think one of the sweetest compliments I've ever heard is going to be all it takes to get my soul, then you clearly don't know me well enough yet." Her body leaned into his and she shifted to watch the shoreline again.
"Only one of the sweetest, little sunshine? I clearly need to step up my game," he said as he went back to petting her hair.
"Somehow, I think you'll manage to take at least 3 of the top 5 spots." He was silent then, save for a soft chuckle.
Another kiss was pressed to the top of her head, and she sighed, snuggling a little closer as his tail pulled her a little tighter to him.
