when i was roughly ten which, for the record, was before any boxboy game came out, i saw that a lot of people were making 2D platformers on scratch and i also wanted to make one. so i decided that i was going to make one, but to wasn't going to be a normal one like everyone else's. you would play as a rainbow cube. the story would be that entire places and other cubes were all mysteriously turning grey in a very small amount of time and no one knew what was causing it, and when something turns grey, it dies. every cube greys one colour at a time, but rainbow cube is more than one colour, so he lives longer. as you were playing each level, he would slowly turn grey, and if he turned all the way grey he would die and you would have to start over. here's his dead body sprite that i made
i very quickly realised that this was WAY too complex for scratch and abandoned it for like eight years i think. then i read colour drained. and i was like "hey this is like colourless but like not really." and i realised that there needs to be a reason why rainbow cube is rainbow coloured while everyone else is one solid colour. so his mom is cyan and his dad is red and their doctors were like "I swear to God don't have sex or it's gonna be stillborn" and they did anyway and Rainbow Cube is the first documented case of a baby from opposite coloured parents not being stillborn and instead being every single colour. also Rainbow Cube is his full legal name. the actual reason for that is because I've been calling him that for ten years and at this point giving him an actual name would be weird. The canon reason is that one of the doctors in the room where his mom was giving birth got a little evil with the birth certificate. Everyone calls him Rain for short
