Some of these may have come out bad but its a rainbow oak tree from twilight forest that my friend gave me.
Hmm... I have decocraft, too... Maybe a lil decorating is in order.

Thanks to everybody who came to watch me stream this yesterday and this morning! Might do another one come this weekend, because this week work is absolutely crapping on me with extra hours and I’ma’ be a tired Mirmod. TwT
i figured out how to force all of my saplings to grow into Rainbow Oaks rather than gross jungle trees, and i feel like a god.
i've wiped out the amaranth forest (by hand, since it turns out they're fucking fireproof) and am back to planting, this time with the forest I originally wanted but didn't have the energy to manicure, since the saplings that become jungle trees leave behind wads of chartreuse leaves when you chop them down and the sight of them clogging up the scenery drives me bugshit.
here's what you do: build a pillar of stone 3 to 4 blocks high in the space next to your Rainbow Oak sapling. apply bonemeal or a hoe of growth to the sapling as many times as it needs, and watch that sucker try in vain to produce anything but a nice tall Rainbow Oak. remove the stone and you're good.
how it works is that the game checks clearance as well as light levels when deciding whether a tree can grow where it's been planted. someone on a forum mentioned controlling trunk clearance to encourage bigger oaks to grow, and i wondered if i could exploit this mechanic in other ways, since jungle trees are tiny and Rainbow Oaks can get pretty big. in less than an hour I had a grove of the things.
i'll never have to tear down another block of nasty left-behind jungle leaves and it is awesome.
I did not draw these pictures, they are submissions for the contest of the /v/ drawfag steam group (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/v-drawfags)!
