Too fast the weight was piled higher

You can find me now in every rainstorm

I watched the bees

Take flight and learned of lightness from their path of airy delight

This after I watched you rake leaves

And learned of heartbreak and deals with devils for the sake of keeping you safe

Now again I watch the bees

Flit from flower to flower in this garden that we grew together

And I watch the trees

Swaying in the breeze from the porch of our home, built brick by brick of love

I watch you, for once, at ease

As we sit together hand in hand, faces to the sun in comfortable silence

And we watch the bees
