Our planet, our home is vital to the survival of every species and as we are be dominant species on the planet we have to be be ones to ensure the survival, safety and protection of our home. Whatever your personal beliefs are about the politics concerning global survival of the planet, we are the ones who can make the changes so in 200 years time our descendants have a safe, healthy and lovable world. How can we help the Earth? Every small action counts because once we all begin to make the small changes a bigger shift can happen. Here are 10 idea I have found floating around on Facebook today. 🌍 1 - Go Outside By going outside more often and for longer period will help build a connection between you and the Earth, giving you a greater appreciation for the world around you. 🌎 2 - Axe the Plastic Bags By using reusable bags, or bags for life you are cutting down on plastic waste. Stronger bags will last longer and can be the equivalent to 100 shopping carrier bags. 🌏 3 - Recycle, Recycle, Recycle Sorting your rubbish before it gets to you bin helps the Earth... use your scraps to make compost; recycle paper, plastic and glass and you will drastically reduce what you take to the curb. 🌍 4 - Organic Foods There is an argument about the benefits of Organic goods, but they aren't treated with chemical pesticides which means that less harmful elements are in the food and the ground. I think we can agree that pesticides are bad. 🌎 5 - To Eat or Not To Eat.... Meat That's the real question, huh? Some people say find a traditional butcher who doesn't use plastic. Some others say that the meat industry is a big contributor of our food related emissions. By reducing or cutting out meat can knock off around 70% of that. 🌏 6 - Composting When I was growing up my granddad had a massive compost bin and all mind of stuff got thrown in. All vegetables scraps, grass cutting, plants, weeds.... you name it. It went in. (**don't throw onion skins or banana peels.in a compost bin**). Composting can be hreat for your garden and the earth in the long run. 🌍 7 - DIY Gardening and Produce One of the best ways to get fresh veggies is to grow them yourself. I saw a YT video about a vegetable garden in a 1 by 1 metre box and with a bit of pre-planning you can get a wide variety of vegetable from that one plot. As one thing is harvested another is planted. 🌍 8 - Glass.... One way to reduce your plastic footprint is to choose glass bottles or jars for storage. This reduces the amount of plastic recycling or it ending up in the ocean. 🌎 9 - Biodegrable You can get a lot of things nowadays that will degrade in a matter of months rather than decades. For my wedding and engagement party I have chosen biodegradable or reusable things like plates, platters, decorations etc.... Any left overs will be taken to a church to help those in need. 🌏 10 - Crack that Cleaning Nowadays you can find a myriad of recipes for making your own cleaning products; you can also find a vast amount of hygiene products online. These are not only better for you, your skin, health and are great, they are easy and inexpensive to make; store them in glass containers to reduce the Plastic footprint. 🌍🌎🌏Other Handy Tips🌏🌎🌍 👍 Turn lights off when you don't need them on 👍 Only cool what you need to reduce waste 👍 Use any left overs to make another meal instead of throwing it away. 👍 Plant trees 👍 Have flowers that help the bees and butterflies 👍 Shop locally for food to reduce the mileage they have to get to you. 👍 Use recyclable reusable packaging materials when you are sending parcels *)0(* Rainbow Love, Light and Blessings *)0(*
