The Rain says Hey.

I don’t know how many of you people have experienced this, but back in my place, there is a specific time before it rains, when all the grey thunderclouds gather up ominously in the sky, roiling about, looking all scary and just about a minute or two before it rains, there is this eerie silence (well, IF you are living in an area that doesn't have noise pollution) and if you listen closely, you can hear the rain, far out in the horizon rumbling towards you. 

I have always found myself listening to that strangely calming, yet anxious sound. 

It creates anticipation. Like I am waiting for something. Waiting for the rain to come and drown me.

And in that two minutes of that wonderful music, I find my peace.

Rain, Rain, Come Again Everyday.

It’s the first official rain of Dubai 2017. It was drizzling a couple of weeks back, but this is the first real, pouring rain since the winter began late last year. And guess what? I missed it.

I don’t know why irony likes me so much. I am a rainy day kind of person, and I end up living in a country that’s 99.9% sunny. I have been googling when rain is expected in Dubai for months now, and when we heard of the likeliness of it finally happening, I have been looking out my office window since 11 am today... 9 hours later it decides to eventually come, and you’d think I was doing something really productive or important, but no. I was freaking sleeping the whole time. I slept through the whole damn thing. When I woke up it it was all over and I went out to look from the window, there were puddles of water down my building, but not a drop coming from the sky. This really pissed me off for some reason, and it’s making me rant about it now. 

Can you believe it?

I am actually ranting about the rain.
