Rain makes me think of rain harvesting. Yeah. We do that. Seen here is 7500 gallons of rain water harvested from our metal roof. 5000 gallons is used for landscaping irrigation. 2500 is for the fire department with a special tap set exactly where they want if they are ever, god forbid, come to this home or this area to fight a fire. The water in this tank could provide 7-8 minutes of firefighting while waiting for a tender truck. That’s a lifetime. We meet with the fire chief to work all this out early in the build. So smart. Fire chiefs are cool. I always thought being a firefighter would be a great career. Mad respect for those boys and girls. #waterisimportant #rainharvesting #rainharvest #rainharvestingsystem #jovickbutterflyhill #jovick #jovickbuilt #contractor #generalcontractor #construction #newconstruction #remodels #residential #commercial #home #homebuilding #homebuilder #customhomes #custom #leed #usgbc #earthadvantage #netzero #oregon #roguevalley #ashland #carpentry #finehomebuilding #homestead #homesteading (at Southern Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJBVb4cgTBY/?igshid=1s1wac6hdd8kr

A study published in 2016 argues that there is a direct link between soil and the chance of it raining on it the next day.
