Linkin Park: 2007-8 (age 13-14); several pages of my diary just fucking filled with (non-sexual but still very infatuated) fangirling about chester bennington’s dreamy voice; made a set of earrings that incorporated the linkin park logo; my desktop wallpaper was a drawing i did that had lyrics from their song ‘forgotten’

Tokio Hotel: 2009-10 (age 15-16); okay so??? this german pop rock band with an extremely teenage vibe/audience and a wildly androgynous (and tbh gorgeous!) lead singer is the reason why i got really good at my german language classes. literally. because i was so keen on translating the lyrics, i’d just freakin learn german by myself out side of class, looking up new words and grammar so i could understand these songs; i did a lot of drawings of them, mainly of bill kaulitz; one time i had to do an art assignment based on the prompt ‘postmodern appropriation’ and i did an acetate etching of edvard munch’s the scream except the layout had been changed to depict the band playing on stage in front of a crowd, with the main figure being, of course, bill kaulitz (see, they had both an album and a song titled schrei i.e. ‘scream’; oh yes i was so very clever lololololol; yeah i’m proud of that, not gonna lie; what a great nerdy teenager i was

Pink Floyd: 2016-2018 (age 22-24); just fucking went off the rails honestly; endlessly talking about them to the point of annoying my bf; doing a damn fair amount of fanart; reading nick mason’s memoir; going to the v&a museum’s ‘their mortal remains’ pink floyd exhibition a total of four times; buying merch; joining tumblr again so i could dive into fandom and reblogging an unholy amount of pink floyd photos, art, and memes

Hamilton: 2018 (age 24); literally listened to the original broadway cast album twice a day every single workday for a month; generated fanart; told everyone i worked with that they should listen to the soundtrack

Silicon Valley: 2019 (age 25) (aka now); !!!! rewatched five seasons; jumped back into tumblr fandom as an active reblogger and creator; DRAWN FANART! do you know how rarely i actually draw fan art? !!! this is a big thing; started a PODCAST; started shipping something (this has. this proper shipping? this has fucking NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN MY LIFE!!); started WRITING FANFICTION (big ditto)
