it’s comical how quickly his demeanour changes,   suddenly bursting to life with energy he’d been lacking until now.   there was no time to sit around moping dammit !   he was the one   …   being really fricken lame right now.   even ringo had noticed it,   but of course she had.   ikki was struggling with this one   …   it him him hard,   personally too.   but she’d pulled him out enough to ignite his fighting spirit again   ―    but he wasn’t her responsibility,   what kind of guy made a girl worry so much?   he might be a dumbass sometimes,   but he wasn’t oblivious. 

‘    we’ll kick their ass,   a.t style   ―   isn’t that right,   ringo ?   ’     he wasn’t using his fists anymore,   not while riding his air trecks.   that was his promise to her   …   and to himself as well.   heavy steps are brought to a sudden stop,   pausing in the hallway   …   he turns,   catching a glimpse of ringo from the corner of his eyes.   he didn’t understand why she’d say something like that   …   and to him,   no less.

‘   anyway,   you’ve always been strong for me.   it’s embarrassing how often    ―   i’m really pathetic sometimes.   i still have a long way to go  …  before we’re even in that regard.   I guess what i’m trying to say is,   just let me keep being strong for you.   ’  

if his team were here they’d probably tease him for being so damn sappy,   but at least then it might have broken the heavy atmosphere,   and stopped him from feeling so embarrassed.   lips pull into a deep frown,   cheeks a soft red,   as he messes up his hair and sighs loudly. 

‘   yeah well anyway !   don’t worry so much   …    just watch me kick ass instead !   …   or something.   ’
