Hello everyone!

First, please excuse the lack of updates in June. It was a very busy month, but the good news is that I got a lot of work done! Let’s see what happened in the span of two months:

I’m done writing the game, YAY! 🍾I am going to send it over to an editor for proofreading and edits, but at least the entire script is done, as well as most of the routes. Only Madigan and Jae-In need final CGs, which can easily be done this month.

I am still aiming for a late September release. I’ll make another post with the official release date in late August!

The calendar has shifted a little for this project and I am aiming for a late October release. IRL work has not been busy but stressful, thus I focused on collaborations and my primary project.

However 🙏! As stated before, I am in the last act of Chapter 2, so a Halloween release would be possible.

"PROJECT: REGENT"

Chapter 1 (out of… many) is done! The UI, even after simplifying it, needs a little tweaking and, aside from minor bugs that will be fixed when Sparkey and I test the game, it is fully playable. However, this project will not get a per-chapter release but a full release.

We started Chapter 2 in early July, and the chapter is going well and much more smoothly than the first!

Aside from chapter two, I want to work on some of the core animations. Notably the main menu, the day-night cycle, and traveling. As well as some UI elements including but not limited to: pretty graphics for village names and player POV changes, an in-game calendar, and different images for stat raises depending on where the player character is. The in-game codex is slowly being written as well.

We do have sound effects, but the only thing we’re not focusing on is music. We have some vibes planned but that’s a problem for later.

Despite a small vacation from my IRL job, these days were not restful, as Sparkey and I have been working hard on our projects, both collabs and respective games. I have also started planning 2027, giving myself time for NaNoRenO, Artfight, and IRL adulting.

Hello everyone! I'm back with a new update as I don't ride the heatwave boiling my country, I surf it 🌊

Ameni's route is finally done as well! I'll try to finish one ending per month until the release date, and so far it's going well. I'm very proud of the CG for their best ending and I hope you will like it too 🖤

Act 3 is done! All of Eranis's parts in chapter two are done and dusted and I'm now onto act 4, which focuses on Teysdrar and his side of ✨𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓩𝓲𝓲𝓻𝓱𝓪𝓷 𝓯𝓾𝓰𝓲𝓽𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓮𝔁𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮✨.

May was busy, and June might be busier. Between a birthday to celebrate, my best friend coming over from the other side of the country, Sparkey (my co-creator for Project Regent) coming to visit for a half-week from a neighboring country, and a short-staffed day job, it's a lot to plan in advance, but the goals should be doable.

The more I keep planning the game I'll be working on in 2027, the more excited I am. I hope you all are eagerly waiting for more information, as well as for Enter the Eternity and TCOC Chapter 2: Lost Souls to come out!

END OF 2025 UPDATE

Hello everyone and welcome to the last post of 2025! (Wasn't it March two days ago?)

The good news is: every goal set for December has been achieved and more! A calendar has been made to keep myself and my co-creators on track for 2026, which I will reveal in another post, but without further ado, let's talk about video games, shall we?

December was very productive. Not only is Connor's third date entirely finished, but I could get a head start on Henry's third date. Half of his part has been written. The goal for this game in January is to finish Henry and Jae-In's third dates, which is realistically doable, just like an end-of-year release is also realistic but unconfirmed.

I have also been brainstorming ideas about a second game set in this universe. It will be quite some time before it comes out, but I am liking the main idea and themes so far.

The puzzle I mentioned in December is done! Based on the planned timeline, ACT 2/4 should be halfway done at the end of January or mid-February. Development is going well and I am optimistic that I can get it done or get a good portion of Chapter 2 done this year.

There are some extra topics I need to debate on, but will most likely be added:

I would like to add a codex in the game to make the lore more accessible when unlocked. It may not be added with Chapter 2's update, but maybe will be added with or before Chapter 3.

I might make a TTRPG based on this universe and its lore. This is just a rough draft and idea, but one that I like.

PROJECT: REGENT

Project: Regent has been stuck in Schrodinger's progress. A lot has been done, but a lot still needs to be done. However, I completed my goal of having chapter 1 be 90% playable. Sparkey and I have been working hard, and while there is still a laundry list of things to do and edits to make, we're liking what we are seeing so far.

We have also completely remade the multiplayer system. It is still multiplayer, but in a way that is much more manageable for the script(s).

Project: Regent will probably be a duology, but it needs to be confirmed based on workload, interest, and additional factors.

GOALS

You will find a TL;DR of my goals for January below. For my 2026 goals and calendar, I will make a separate post and explain everything there. Bold means that 31/01 is a hard deadline, while italics means that 31/01 is a soft deadline.

END OF FEBRUARY UPDATE

Hello everyone! What do you mean it’s already March?

I’ll keep this update short, but there are a few exciting updates coming up, so let’s get started.

First of all, RainSpice Studios is partaking in NaNoRenO 2026!

The Game’s name is Conversations at the AquaBar (CATAB). I will create its itch.io page when I have a little more art to showcase. As said in the last update, it will be a visual novel made on RPG Maker MZ. It will also be free to download and play.

After a terrible edition of StarCon, you find yourself next to another visitor at the bar. He must not know that you were an important guest, and vice-versa. Between understanding, ranting, and attraction, will this trip to the bar turn this terrible day into something more positive?

We’re still on track for Enter the Eternity so let me share some good news: every single third date is done! I just need to make each character’s different endings and the game will be ready to be released. The ones I will be working on on April are Ameni and Aiko.

End of July Update

Hello everyone and welcome back to RainSpice Studios' monthly devlog. Without further ado, let's get into it. (How is July already over, it was June a week ago?)

The way I work on Enter the Eternity is: Prologue > First Dates + Additional Scene > Second Dates + Additional Scene > Third Dates > Endings.

As you can see, I still have a lot to do. I won't focus on third dates quite yet, that's a problem for September-Rain.

What I plan on focusing on is remaking Henry's magical boy outfit because I absolutely hate it and have been procrastinating on it for ages but unfortunately his old design was already used in a CG so I have to remake it too.

There is also a scene between dates two and three that I need to format and that needs sprites and music. (The one I call "additional scene.")

If I have extra time, I will work on third dates.

The Code of Crystals is not looking fresh right now, but my goal for August is to focus on three scenes which I will nickname "Training," "Talk on the Road," and "Campsite." (With one more if I have some extra time.)

There is still a lot of work to do for chapter two as you can see above. However, these three scenes have no new sprites but only one background, one CG, and two mini-CGs. Then it's back to implementing sprites and music.

Project Regent

Project Regent (working title) is a fantasy visual novel and stat-raising game that is being made in collaboration with a talented writer and worldbuilder who wishes to be known under the name "Sparkey."

In a world full of shapeshifters and magic and curses, after a violent revolution, you are given a position of power in your home village. Will you be able to lead it well and help the other villages with their issues in and out of their walls? Or will you fail time and time again and die trying?

The game is designed as a local multiplayer visual novel for up to four players, but a singleplayer route will also be available for those who prefer to experience games on their own.

The game's story has been fully planned out, characters are being made, and while Sparkey takes care of the writing, I taught myself how to make a codex and stat screens. More accurately I found a codex code after banging my head on my desk for a whole afternoon, and made a stat screen for each player.

Unfortunately I do not have any concept art or game art that I can show yet.

Yes, it will have romance and romance and royalty subplots and let me tell you the TEA is hot in most villages.

I know I said that I would have progress bars for every project, but as this one is a wee baby swaddled in the cashmere blanket of innocence, I have no idea how much work Sparkey and I will have to do to watch it grow, but I know that it will be a big baby, and will take a lot of time and effort to make. It truly is a labor of love and I hope you guys will stick around to watch it grow and eventually be there when it is released.

After all of this positive talking, I come with bad news. My computer is irreparable. I knew it was holding on by a thread, but I did not know that, this time, it truly was the end.

I start a new job in September, as mentioned in the End of June devlog, so I will be able to save up for a new beast of a computer, but it also means that development will be slower as I try to earn a living. The city I live in isn't cheap either…

I will not speak about release dates or predictions, as I have no idea when anything will be released. Expect one day, but hope soon!

END OF JANUARY UPDATE

We're right on track for Enter the Eternity! Henry and Jae-In's third dates are done, which means that I'll be tackling Madigan's third date and the bad endings in February.

Just like for Enter the Eternity, The Code of Crystals is also right on schedule. Act 2/4 will be finished at the end of February, in order to start Act 3/4 in April. There are only two short scenes that I need to add, and it should be quick.

I have also started writing parts of the codex and am planning to add a map to the game. However, I will implement these in the game a little later, probably before Chapter 2's release.

Chapter 2 also doesn't have a title, so be expecting polls to know which one sounds best.

NaNoRenO

I do not know if there will be an official NaNoRenO event on itch.io, but it is a challenge that I am interested in trying out in March. The project I will be making is called Conversations at the AquaBar and will be a simple visual novel made on an RPG Maker engine. It will also be free to play and download.

Project: REGENT

January was focused on character scenes. What I call character scenes are events in the game where you have free time away from your political duties, so you may hang out with some of the characters featured in the game.

Some characters can be romanced, but these scenes have not been planned out, yet. We're focusing on friendship scenes, first.
