True, I found Our Dark Duet a bit more scrambled? The poetry parts were rather creative though. And YES, the ending! I finished it next to my friend who lent it to me and shook her because she hadn’t warned me not to read it in public LMAO

Ok, reporting back now that I've finished up fragile threads of power, and it's definitely more of a sequel-esque spin-off to the shades of magic series. If you liked the shades of magic series, I'd recommend checking it out next :) And yess I need to read the new Percy Jackson books soon also!! My reading list is also just getting longer and longer but... I am always hungry for book recommendations AHAHA I'm reading Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas right now, and I'm going to read Natalie Zina Walschots' Hench next! Which book are you reading now?

Right? The plot for our dark duet was not that cohesive, but BY GOD THE WRITING WAS INCREDIBLE!! I still haven't truly recovered from that ending. I am always so worried now when I read her other books HAHA

For once I'm glad I used youtube to check the songs out cause HOLY THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR KOKORON IS SO WELL DONE?! THE ANIMATION!?? The story line??? Insaneeee Also the lyrics are just so relatable and uplifting somehow? Show is so weird in the best way possible somehow also!! It's so fun and unique, like the character in the song just POPS up at you!

Also speaking of Ado, I found out recently she collaborated with le sserafim for one of their japanese releases?? I also saw she covered Blue Flame and currently obsessed with it HAHA It's crazy saying ado accomplish so much over time!

You really blew away your goal! \(≧▽≦)/ also I’m planning to read the shades of magic series soon since my friend recommended the protagonist to me (my type in protags, apparently HAHAHA), as well as the poppy war by r f kuang! Schwab’s writing really hits the spot tbh. I hope you enjoy This Savage Song!! It too changed my brain chemistry back then.

i just followed the design on the kit, it’s a wreath of flowers! but I changed some of the colors because the green that’s supposed to cover the branches (basically half the image) is almost neon, so I switched it to the muted green used in some leaves. I tried using a tutorial online to make the flowers fancier but it didn’t turn out right HAHAHA

also I realized only halfway through the project that the kit didn’t include one of those wooden hoops you use to stretch out the cloth… oh well

YESSSS I think you'll like the protagonists in the shades of magic series!! I think one of them definitely takes a bit of time to grow on you while another you'll like right at the start, but I loved them all equally by the end HAHA I think the third book is the best one — if I could rate a book 6/5 stars, I would. Soooooooo many good plot twists and so many converging plot points!! It was so amazing (I finished the whole trilogy in three days cause I couldn't put the books down at all) Schwab recently released a spin off series with the first book called The Fragile Threads of Power and the characters from shades of magic show up again! I haven't read it just yet, but I hope to get to it by the end of the year HAHA

I adored This Savage Song so much!! But I didn't really like Our Dark Duet as much. Maybe it was because This Savage Song was just so good that it eclipsed Our Dark Duet completely, but I found book 2's plot to be messier and a bit more hard to follow in a sense. Good ending (SO BITTERSWEET), but the road to get there took a couple of weird turns. Have you gotten the chance to read the poppy war yet?

That sounds super fun!!! I've been trying to get into some crafty hobbies lately! I've signed up and done a couple of ceramics projects and they've been super fun (though I'm running out of space to put them)

yesss the characterization in royal affairs is so good! even the MC’s family, who you kinda only see once in a while, is written so realistically — but honestly all of the character dynamics are great!!

Did the lucky potato work and get you your shoes on time? also how was the wedding? Congrats on finishing your reading goal just 3/4s through the year LMAOOO What books were they?

I still have to start a lot of Schwab books after I finish ORV (eventually), but I’ve probably read enough fanfic this year to cover 10 books 😅. Ignition! by John Clark is a book on rocket propellant chemistry/history written in a kind of old-geezer way? It was interesting even if I didn’t understand any of the chemistry involved HAHHAHA

Also I’ve gotten myself an embroidery kit and have almost completed it — yes I started a quarantine project after the quarantine LOL I’ve also spent quite some time playing stardew valley recently (yes also late to the party)

YES THEY GOT TO ME WITHIN 2 DAYS? Which was wild because it was estimated to take at least 4 days. Not complaining though! They were super comfortable and super cute too!!!! Very good bang for my buck. The wedding was fantastic!! I had a great time and they had a ice cream truck at the venue so I had a lot of sugar that day BAAAHAHAH

I have extended my reading goal to 23 books for 2023 and I'm almost there heh >:) My friend got me hooked on Sarah J Maas' fantasy stuff! She gave me a copy of House and Earth and Blood and that book changed my brain chemistry basically HAHA I blew through the court of thorns and roses series, and then read the sequel to House of Earth and Blood after that. I also read Hell Bent from Leigh Bardugo, (finally) finished up Vengeful, DEVOURED the shades of magic series (CHANGED MY BRAIN CHEMISTRY!!), finished The Atlas Six, and am currently finishing up the Folk of the Air series! OH I also read Fourth Wing and the ending hit me so hard I had to spend 3 hours on the carpet after I finished HAHAHA (basically, a lot of fantasy) I'm planning on starting This Savage Song after I finish up the Queen of Nothing, and then I'll move over to the Throne of Glass series!

(Though honestly, Schwab's writing just hits different at the end of the day HAHA)

yessss Beaumont is so funny! if you ask them if they’d go on a date with Trevelyan, they say: “I think I would. We have good conversations. Even if he is terribly annoying." Other references made to Trevelyan include “Personally, I thought he was just a dilettante. But maybe he's serious about it after all." and “Insufferable.” (while also sort-of-smiling)

It’s just hilarious to see it in-game if you romance the other options, because you’d get one couple going ☺️🥺 at each other and another who are like this: 😏😒

I've been doing pretty good actually!!! I got a kindle recently so I've been reading a lot (and that led to me finally reading all the paperbacks I got a while back also... finally) Reading challenge for the year complete! (Granted, I only set my goal to be 10 books, but small victories!)

terrible dialogue is tolerable if you get a bunch of friends in a discord call to make fun of it LOL I watched a school play on YouTube where the actors literally added 💃🕺✨ motions/sound effects to their (lowkey cringy) dialogue. But I finally played Royal Affairs recently and the dialogue was so good! You’d probably like Trevelyan, they’re a menace xD Perhaps Beaumont or Javi as well? My favorite lines from them: Trevelyan: Because I'm so noisy, and also smart, obviously, I've gotten pretty prominent in the movement.

Javi: Do your kissing somewhere else! Wait for the festival! …It's not that I mind, really. But I'm not one for kissing and sleeping with people and such, so it's extra funny to scare them.

Beaumont: You're a charlatan from the county fair.
